Alberta STILL has 75 wild fires. If any had wind like Edmonton, some will jump from 'Under Control' to 'Being Held' or worse.

Area burned this year is staying stable at 2.2 million ha or 5.4 million acres.

How much fossil fuel is used to fight all these fires? It all adds to the atmospheric carbon load but so does the burned trees.

I had a look. All the archived years are all much higher. Dangerous trend indeed. I also looked up the dead pool and it is 540 ft. River banks taper so very non-linear to get there.

I like the AQI better as it does not top out like the AHQI. Frankly, 10+ is like the amps which can be ‘turned up to 11’ of Spinal Tap.

My AQI=219 right now in Edmonton or Very Unhealthy.

I was thinking and hoping the solid rain would knock the smoke down completely. I was wrong. Guess there is more smoke and more to fill in behind. #RandomCurseWord

At midday, the sky above was open enough I could see blue key and clouds. Well, the blue had a little grey but the clouds were a good look. The horizons were flat grey still. Now the sky has filled in and there is no texture when I look up.

Granted, we are told “Don’t Look Up.”
