Crikey the #RadCom letters page, where to start! Climate change denial, FT8 is the death of amateur radio, it’s not “real radio”… “Sorry but…”. as if The Only Right Way To Communicate Is Via A Pre-Information-Theory Mode! “There’s no activity … we had a great operation with over 6,400 human mode contacts” - invalidating his point. I agree there are fewer band users now, but there are many other factors contributing to this decline.

The #radcom letters page is always a nutter magnet, but this month—now that antennagate is over—we have the holy trinity of

✅ climate change denial;
✅ #FT8 hate-whinging; and
✅ a healthy smattering of ‘sorry but…’.

Is #QST the same? Enquiring minds need to know!

“Is the QSL Bureau needed - electronic bureaux are more efficient”, sure, but they’re bland. Once you’ve reduced everything to an efficiency metric, you’ve removed the humanity from it. I can see the number of verified contacts I make increasing, which is nice - but actually receiving a card from a distant place is much nicer; it adds value. #RadCom #HamRadio #QSL
