HF Propagation Lab
A browser-only teaching instrument for amateur radio operators. It explains what live space-weather numbers suggest, how each band may react, and which ionospheric mechanism is probably doing the work. It is a teaching model, not a substitute for beacons, skimmers, WSPR, or listening on the air.

Truckers on the air #tota.
I will soon be a solo #truckdriver, "activating" my #qrp #HF #hamradio at #RestAreas along highways. Goal: to start something like #sota, for #truckers that don't have regular access to parks or summits to hike. Anyone that might be interested in following this challenge, please join:BAND group pagr:

Why are some antennas coated with PVC plastic polyester?
In handheld radios with PVC coating, touching the antenna tends to change the resonance. To prevent resonance changes, they are protected from human hands.
Another purpose is protection from wind and moisture. -

Receiving Indonesia again on 15m.
It must be coming over Europe as I'm not seeing Australia or Pacific stations at all.
PSK reporter shows me barely making it into Europe

Anyone have any recommendations for GOOD 900MHZ antenna for #LoRa handhelds?
I don't want fake or untuned crap, but the more affordable the better - ideally a whip/duckie wouldn't be more than $20, maybe $50 for something exotic like a moxon.
There are a raft of us broke punks starting a mesh in an extremely rf hostile environment. Need all the help we can get.

Funny, I just wrote a blog post about a problem I was having writing this app and then realize I should probably share what the app is! 🤦♂️
The app is a 🚀 space weather app for amateur radio enthusiasts trying to better understand radio propagation. It is aimed at newly licensed hams, but it is fascinating to learn about the topics my self!
Let me know what you think.
