Does the #psion5 have a rom version that included the installer program so you can install SIS files direct from CF?
Mine lacks the installer - I can add it via psiwin and serial but it's a pain!
I know the roms are on a daughterboard - are they flash or mask roms?

My #Psion5 still works. I have many newer, but still old, tech items that do not.
The difference is that the Psion5 uses normal #batteries and the newer dead stuff has internal lithium ones which die.

I have no idea what to do with the Psion5, but hey, it works.

Was thinking of making a video this weekend on installing #PsiWin in a WinXP VM and use a USB-RS232 adapter. Turns out someone's beaten me to it!

Two things I'd like to add.

Thoroughly enjoying my trip through the "Computers that made Britain". I know most of them by reputation, but most were launched before I was born. I do remember playing on an Amstrad with my cousin though.

I just read about the Acorn Electron. The first time I heard of #Acorn was when i was offered a PalmTop called the #Acorn3. I later upgraded to a #Psion5. They introduced me to programming (not that I knew it), like their forbearers did for so many kids in the 80s
