Ein Vorteil der Makrofotografie ist ja, dass man oft nicht weit gehen muss, um interessante Motive zu finden. Diese Biene zum Beispiel. Direkt neben einer Straße war sie emsig mit den gelben Blüten beschäftigt.

Vorbeieilende Menschen schauen manchmal etwas irritiert: Das steht ein alter Kerl mit einer Kamera und starrt angestrengt in die Vegetation am Wegesrand. Was sucht der da?
Dabei suche ich gar nichts, ich finde.

Evening falls in London's Trafalgar Square, one of the capital's great meeting places.
In the foreground the silhouetted bronze statue of George IV by Sir Francis Legatt Chantrey.
Originally, the impressive sculpture, which depicts the King dressed in ancient Roman attire and riding bareback, was going to be placed on top of Marble Arch, but was placed in its current location following the King's death.
On a somewhat lighter note, Nelson's Column always reminds me of one of my favourite children's TV programmes, in particular, the one that featured presenter John Noakes scaling its dizzy heights to help clean off the pigeon poo!

Autumn Aspen Thicket” — A thicket of dense aspen trees with autumn leaves, Eastern Sierra Nevada.

This photograph comes from near the end of the autumn aspen color transition. Although one can stretch the season out to about one month, eventually the leaves all fall and we’re left with bare trunks. Generally speaking, the leaves fall first at higher elevations, and that’s where I found this grove. "200 Meter von meiner Haustür entfernt" ist nach 28 Jahren Wartezeit ein neuer Bahnhof „Schnelsen Süd“ entstanden. Die 1.900 Schüler und die Anwohner werden ihn aber erst Ende 2028 nutzen können, da die Bahn keine Zeit zum Halten hat 🤬.
Solange bleibt es ein Geisterbahnhof. Ich bin so enttäuscht! 😢
