  1. Things which are not meteors but might look like them for a split second:
    * Satellites
    * Stars out of the corner of my eye
    * Car lights glinting off the neighbour's TV aerial
    * Seagulls

  2. We had 2,301 matched #Meteors last night across the UK Meteor Network, many #Perseids! Our 4 #GMN #MeteorCameras in #Oxfordshire picked up loads because they're very sensitive, but visually we were seeing about 20 per hour. The radiant is very apparent on these track-stacks! #PerseidsMeteorShower #MeteorShower

  3. On this last Sunday of August, I thought I'd share some images that I've taken over the summer as I look forward to the autumn colors here in the #pnw. Can't wait to get out and take more photos here in #bellinghamwa during that time! Next planned shoot is the #supermoon this week! Already scouted the spot with @photopills app. Hopefully its not overcast/smokey.

  4. So, what do you do when the screw that attaches from your tripod to your tripod head drops into the tripod?

    If you guessed 'curse and wonder if there is a god', that would have been my first reaction.

    My second reaction was to find some rocks I could prop my camera up on to take the shot I was wanting.

    I was at Lake Padden scouting the location for my #perseidsmeteorshower shoot I was going to do. So I was mostly here looking for angles and wasn't too disappointed.

  5. This last weekend I did something I’ve never done before. I took photos of a meteor shower, the Perseids meteor shower to be specific. My gym buddy had asked if I was going to photograph the meteor shower. Considering that was the first time I had heard of it, I confidently said “yeah, sure…”

  6. So many #Perseids + other #Meteors again overnight 14th/15th August 2023 on our #MeteorCameras in #Oxfordshire; well over 300 on 3 of them! These are the track-stacks from each. Dotted lines are aircraft that were in the same frame, wiggly lines are insects #Perseids2023 #PerseidsMeteorShower

  7. While scrolling through the images I took of the #perseidsmeteorshower, I saw that if scrolled fast at the end, you could see the stars moving. I'll do a better job but just wanted to share some #behindthescenes before I started working on this.

    BTW, the lights along the shore are people doing a 24-36hour relay race. And here I thought I'd be the coolest one at the lake (;

  8. Saw some fantastic meteors last night from Bessie Butte, and of course the Milky Way was beautiful too. #astrophotos #perseidsmeteorshower #milkyway

  9. 2 of the #PerseidMeteors I captured with my Canon 1100D overnight 11th/12th August 2023 left an #IonizationTrail. The 1st was at 22:31UT/23:31BST, the 2nd was the twilight #Fireball at 03:29UT/04:29BST #PerseidsMeteorShower #Perseids2023

  10. 3 #PerseidMeteors captured with my Canon 1100D overnight on 11th/12th August 2023 from Oxfordshire, UK including the twilight #Fireball at 03:29UT / 04:29 BST. 18-55mm lens, 8 seconds at ISO-1600 f/3.5. Out of almost 2,500 images I caught 7 #Perseids #PerseidsMeteorShower #Perseids2023 #PerseidsPeak

  11. 4 #PerseidMeteors captured with my Canon 1100D overnight on 11th/12th August 2023 from Oxfordshire. 18-55mm lens, 8 seconds at ISO-1600 f/3.5. Out of almost 2,500 images I caught 7 #Perseids #PerseidsMeteorShower #Perseids2023 #PerseidsPeak

  12. We had more clear sky than we expected last night in Oxfordshire, UK. We saw a good number of #Perseids visually including a nice #fireball + our #GMN #RaspberryPi #MeteorCameras captured well over 200 #Meteors each! Here are the track-stacks from each camera #PerseidsMeteorShower #MeteorShower

  13. A clear night on 6th/7th August meant we had a very busy night on all 4 of our #GMN #RaspberryPi #MeteorCameras in Oxfordshire, UK. These are the track-stacks from each camera. Dotted or squiggly lines are aircraft or moths in the same frame as a meteor. Plenty of #Perseids! #PerseidsMeteorShower #GlobalMeteorNetwork
