Lichens indicate airquality and climateconditions. I found the #species below in #Jungfernheide #forest #Berlin. While #Parmelia #sulcata requires light, but is flexible, #Hypotrachyna #afrorevoluta needs warm, nitrogen-poor #environments and clean air. The latter is rarer in #Germany, but spreading eastward based on #globalwarming. D. Masson (2004) found it on #treetrunks and #branches.

Zwischen 1786 und 1886 wurden diese #Steine aufgestellt, die heute alle verwittert und von #Flechten, hier die #Sulkatflechte (#Parmelia #sulcata) und #Moosen überzogen sind. Gesehen auf dem historischen und unter Denkmalschutz stehendem alten Friedhof der Jüdischen Gemeinde zu Kettwig, heute auf Ratinger Stadtgebiet.
Between 1786 and 1886, these #stones were erected, which today are all weathered and covered with #lichens and #mosses. Seen on the historic and listed old cemetery of the Jewish community in Kettwig, today on Ratingen city territory.
