Sortie Lichenologie : La cascade de Vescagne

RDV à 10 h à la Garusière (juste après le col de Vence) balise 143
Par un bon sentier direction l'ancienne mine de la Cagne et en longeant le cours d'eau, la cascade de Vescagne. Nous verrons de nombreuses stations à atmosphère très humides, sises dans de vieilles forêts.

Before lichens he ran a range of websites under the biology.ie banner: revision material for school exams; Web 2.0 mapping to collect phrenology, roadkill etc. He was a pioneer in using the Internet for citizen science.

I found him a kind, thoughtful, interesting companion on the field. I learnt much from him. His excitement when we saw a lizard in a wall in Glen Tilt, didn't stop him from carefully getting a good photo.

Here’s a close up of the rough surface of a granite bolder. I really like the feeling of the rock under my #WalkingBoots and also the #mottled appearance, which is due to #lichens which have made their home on the surface.

Yesterday I forgot why I didn't go to the parks this past week, and saw all the fallen branches and trees covering the trails. The saws were buzzing in the background. The main trail was clear, thanks Seattle Parks Dept.! I did get to see a nice display of lichens on mossy branches by the sides of the trail.
