One experience which stuck with me was students creating titles for their term papers. While the individual students generally found the AI generated title better than their own, the events took a surprising turn when all titles were presented. While the individual titles looked were unique, the AI "unified" the titles. The AI generated titles were reduced to essential three different titles with slight variations

So when I criticise capitalists and companies, I need to be careful to do so in a way that avoids demonising and alienating those workers.

Eg implicitly blaming them for the decisions of capitalists and management. Decisions the hierarchical structures of their workplace impose on them, along with the rest of us.

#Note2Self if you are organising a conference were you want to do computer stuff, you either need to provide your own network. Or you need to check with the technical staff of the hotel.

The network connection at #SeminarZentrumRückersbach ist excelent (test were up to 500 MBit via WiFi) . But it seems they use Client Isolation and also block certain protocols (e.g. SSH)

While this isn't bad security for a hotel WLAN, it's annoying. If you like to set up a computer lab Client Isolation stops you. And blocked ssh makes it impossible to even push to Git(Lab|Hub|*) through SSH 😠

I just bought a small Bluetooth keyboard for traveling. While the keyboard basically works I learned some things the hard way.

The worst is that ESC is only reachable through FN.
As I'm an Unix/vi person this is an exclusion criterion.

Another thing I notice is, that I really like a backlit keyboard for working in low light conditions.

Today I learned #Java programes packaged as an Windows Executable are self-extracting archive (SFX). At least some of them.
On Windows manged to extract start.exe and the jar via 7zip (which didn't work under Linux, hints on why are welcome), On Linux unrar worked.

Through this I could inspect the content and determine the differences between two executables 🙂
