So, today it's cold, grey, rainy and later forecast snowy. I can see the ice in the raindrops on the windshield already.
We have a few mental and physical disabilities that don't register on the state level as enough to grant SSI but that do affect our ability to hold traditional employment. We're queer and trans, intersex and otherkin.
We're still gradually building up the Vulpibus. The last two winters were quite miserable. This year, we have better solar power and batteries, but the winter is going to be longer, snowier and colder where we now are because we're in a spot where that's what El Niño does. We would rather spend money on improving our resilience than on endlessly driving around, since for once we have somewhere we can stay for a long while.
But we don't have money until we are sent some to support our survival and our still ongoing work on @VulpineLabs and the Vulpibus. We need to upgrade our batteries and inverter, we need a new propane stove, generator fuel, EV charging, and we need a LOT of insulation.
Can you help us build things out faster so we don't have to struggle again? The sooner we can make our situation year-round functional, the sooner we can get back to what we actually want to be doing: open source gene editing systems design and development.
Reminder: if you are broke, don't make yourself more broke for us. Just share the message around. Find people who do have money and point them at this.
If you are not broke, consider what you can actually spare. Consider how you can join our chat groups and see our progress that you help happen. We don't mind if you send $0.01, $1 or $10000, we will make the most of it and treat you well as a friend all the same.
If you in fact need somewhere to go and consider a cramped cold bus in the mountains with us to be an improvement over your current situation, let us know.
And if you want to commission art in a similar style to my avatar picture, let us know! Likewise, if you know someone in the central Rockies in Colorado who needs help and will pay for it, maybe we can find a way.
