Mi invitò a cena un amico dei tempi che furono;lui laureato al KCL, io in visita nel suo Paese. Mi accoglie,la moglie, professoressa universitaria, in Burqa, lui ed il figlio giocavano alla PS 4. Dopo cena ci appartiamo per discutere di lavoro. Alle mie domande, lui, prima risponde: che è un fatto di religione, poi, incalzato, mi confessa che: siamo noi occidentali, a non capire quanto sia comodo avere una “schiava”.
E lui è uno di quelli colti ed un ragazzo d’oro 😏(non era in #iran )

Sono riuscito a far girare Populus su un Mac di ultima generazione… ho dovuto “imbrogliare” non poco.
Se il mio ego non fosse già smisurato, sarebbe, ora, di molto aumentato. -

Ho fatto una cosa brutta, ho visto una persona così disagiata qui su Mastodon da far spavento, tempo fa avrei tentato di aiutarla (ovviamente in vano) ma oggi sono un po’ stanco. L’ho bloccata senza interagire nemmeno una volta. Questo fa di me una persona cattiva ? 😞 #nocross

Calling the preservationists here on the fediverse:
Next week, on December 9th, all remaining TWC #IntelliStar units powering the #Weatherscan TV channel will be decommissioned and the channel will be shut down across the US. Both the IntelliStar units and the software used on the channel are currently unpreserved, and may remain as such if we don't act fast.
Since the channel was run entirely at cable headends with almost no intervention from The Weather Channel, the remaining cable companies that carry it are dropping it at different times, so it's likely that very few remain, if any at all. It is currently unknown if anyone has secured a unit.
Frankfort Plant Board Cable, a provider that seemed like our best bet to get a unit from, discontinued the channel on November 17, with the unit powering it seemingly nowhere to be found. We have very few options left, so if possible, please call the providers in the list linked below and try to get in contact with someone that currently manages the units:

Yo aviso ya que ni CW a la comida ni a mis selfies. Bastantes movidas psicólogicas tengo yo ya con ambas cosas como para sobrepensarlas más de la cuenta. Si no gusta ya sabéis, silenciar/block/unfollow/etc., que no hay ningún problema ni nos vamos a llevar mal por ello.

Folks on the birdsite are talking about it, but I haven't seen it mentioned here:
Student loans were invented by Republicans in the 1970s/1980s to make sure poor people weren't educated enough to realize that their poverty was the choice of rich people.
College used to be FREE before people like Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and Lewis Powell deliberately sabotaged it.
