For the 10,000th time I have searched for which #Ubuntu version number and codename go with my #LinuxMint version and codename. I assume there is some benefit to constantly having two identifiers for each release of an OS, where neither identifier provides any information about the other, but that benefit doesn't filter down to me, the lowly user.

My OS: Crocodile 27.3
Me: [search: which version Ubuntu is Linux Mint Crocodile] [Which version Ubuntu is Linux Mint Vespa] [Versions Mint Ubuntu numbers and codenames]

Yes, I know there are terminal commands to find this. Memorizing those is another thing that (a) never sticks except cat /etc/issue and (b) seems only necessary because there are two names for each version and neither name gives any information about the other.

Yesterday at work I hopped on a debugging can with someone whose first name was Akshit. I tried, for pronunciation, "Aksheet", but eventually had a chance to ask how he pronounced his name, and no, it's Ak-shit.

I used to have a name that looked daunting, but was actually simple to pronounce, and I loathed people who chickened out and wouldn't even try to say it.

I've been hacking together a little CLI/TUI for the mastodon API in #rustlang recently. Nothing too fancy, just an API client and some pretty printing but I've hit a block.
