Earth To Humans, I Require Assistance, URGENT Response Of Compassionate Support Needed!

It is Sunday, September 6th, and this #disabled man existing in #poverty is truthfully struggling. Constant pain, sleepless nights, hunger-filled days, blood pressure on a continuous rollercoaster, declining executive cognitive function, hands that no longer work right, vertigo that keeps me dizzy, bad knees, and difficulty walking, stooping, or bending. Every day I fight with the choice of what I can eat versus whether I can afford to take a shower or have clean clothes. My near non-existent disability income cannot cover even a quarter of life today. Every facet of my existence hangs on a precarious precipice. I have no safety at all. I am begging for help to live, begging for compassion and dignity, and it nearly never comes. What trickles in is appreciated more than anyone realizes, but it is never enough to offer breathing room or begin to weave a net of safety, let alone address urgent needs. I am exhausted mentally, spiritually, and physically. I need a major infusion of financial support. I have never expected one person to bear my burdens; I only hope all will help how they can, with the compassion and empathy they themselves would pray for if they were in need. I am 48, disabled, in poverty, with nowhere to turn. I have had a very hard life. How much longer must I fight and endure an existence void of compassion, empathy, support, respect, dignity, and safety? Please, I am not in a good place. Please help me climb out of this hell of desperation today.

Existence is stealing my vision as constant pain and exhaustion reign in this disabled, poverty-stricken corpse. My sight, like the rest of me, is suffering. Some days things are clear for a little while, but more often it’s a dark fuzzy blur, a shrinking tunnel. Bright light hurts; dim light makes fine details impossible. Coupled with joints actively revolting against me, even the mundane becomes extraordinary. If I sit too long, my ankles, knees, and hips lock. If I stand too long, my legs burn and stiffen. If I lie down in my torture-device bed, everything goes haywire. My wrists and hands go numb, my shoulders and back ache, and trying to sit upright feels like it takes days. Every movement, every breath becomes a battle that lasts too long. My thoughts fade and fray more each day as my bowels constantly complain there is no food. If I were a corpse, this decay would make sense, but as I am somehow still alive, simply existing is becoming more than I can bear.

I really don’t feel well. I am exhausted, in pain, anxious, unable to get comfortable, and unsure what I will eat tonight. I am worn out from it all, and people simply do not understand, nor do they attempt to feign empathy if they cannot express it naturally. It gets old explaining over and over that I am disabled and aging, which means my disabilities worsen. I exist in poverty because I am disabled, and it is infuriating when people think I can just do A, B, C despite me making it clear I cannot. If humanity were not such a failure, maybe I could raise the money I need to live beyond barely existing, have help in my life, and maybe even help someone else who suffers the way I have most of my life.

My body and mind are degrading to the point that doing things most people take for granted is becoming extremely difficult. On top of my normal unmet needs, it is imperative that I raise the money to buy property and build my own forever home, so I have security and stability. If I am lucky, I could help others through the rest of my life by having a place to offer them support. But obtaining my own forever home has become an immediate need. I have no family to call on, no friends to rely on. I am disabled, in poverty, and getting older by the minute. Please help me today.

I am having a rough life. Between the disabled life in poverty and the effects of aging in poverty for so long, things keep getting harder. My body is in constant pain, my mattress is 20 years old and useless, and I have no room for a couch or recliner to alternate positions. My body is in constant conflict with itself. My hands randomly drop things and ache all day. My vision is degrading. My mental executive functions are noticeably declining. My tiny cave is a mess; I need to organize and clean, but I lack the physical energy and the financial means to obtain what I need. Everything is chaos. From the constant need for food I can never afford, to underwear, socks, shoes, pants, shirts, personal hygiene — there is so much I truly need and no real way to obtain any of it. I need a massive infusion of cash to get caught up, and then monthly support to stay somewhat stable. Your compassion and support would help me in so many ways today and every day going forward.

Part of my rent is helping out where I live, but my body and mind are degrading to the point that even that is becoming difficult. Nineteen days before the U.S. sanctions deadline, Autistici/Inventati is shutting down.

For twenty-five years, A/I built infrastructure for people who understood that privacy, autonomy and resistance require more than good intentions. Now a government order has made keeping that infrastructure alive untenable.

There is grief in this. There should also be fury.

Because fascism does not arrive only as boots in the street. Sometimes it arrives as a designation, a compliance deadline, a terrified service provider, a bank account that suddenly stops working. Bureaucracy has always been one of authoritarianism’s favorite costumes. The paperwork looks terribly respectable while the walls close in.

And this cannot remain a problem for “the nerds.” People organizing in every sphere need to understand what autonomous infrastructure means, why it matters, and what happens when we leave it to a tiny number of exhausted technical collectives to keep the lights on for everyone else.

We need to become the thousand servers. Now.

If one autonomous project can be isolated, there should be ten more behind it. A hundred. A thousand. This should be the moment radical hosting, federated services, community servers, privacy infrastructure and collectively controlled networks begin flourishing, not retreating. Build them in basements, social centers, infoshops, collectives, cooperatives and wherever else people can keep a machine humming and a cable plugged into the wall.

The lesson cannot be that autonomous infrastructure was too dangerous to maintain.

The lesson has to be that we did not have nearly enough of it.

We ❤️ A/I. We are heartbroken to see it end this way. And we refuse to treat its shutdown as the end of the idea it spent twenty-five years proving was possible.

Drought in Uganda is becoming so devastating, water sources are failing. Farmers have watched their months of hard work die under sun.
