I was raised #Catholic, though I became an atheist in fifth grade, when I realized that #God was *not* going to instantly teleport me to #hell for questioning his existence, because he isn't real.
#Christmas music can only be rehearsed until #MidnightMass on actually effing Christmas. That's why everyone has a goddamned #advent calendar. So you can count down to the twelve days when Christmas music is *supposed* to be performed.

After the first episode of #midnightmass I can say:
- This series is going to emotionally wreck me.
- Father Paul is my favorite. Riley close second.
- The entire cast is great.
Living up to the hype so far and I'm glad I only know one spoiler of a monster type that will appear.

Bev's unbearable speech to a Muslim sheriff in Midnight Mass about why "The Bible should be in a PUBLIC school" reminds me so much of my life.
I was gaslighted like this multiple times in a PUBLIC school on why they think we should spend homeroom time praying Buddhist prayers that I don't even understand! My issue (Like Sheriff's issue) is the fact that I don't think religion should be in a public school not because they are teaching a different religion than mine.

There's a new Netflix show, The Fall of the House of Usher, and it's really good. It's by Mike Flanagan, the same guy who did the also great #MidnightMass and The House on Haunted Hill/The Haunting of Bly Manor.
For me, this guy Flanagan, and whoever his team is, just do good with marrying of plain context, creepier elements, the grotesque, a few jump scares here and there, and the artistry of intent. And flair, with all the Poe references in this show. I recommend it. #TheFallOfTheHouseOfUsher

El listón estaba muy alto, con las previas y magistrales “The Haunting of Hill House” y “The Haunting of Bly Manor”, pero Mike Flanagan nos vuelve a regalar otra obra maestra (quizás, la mayor de su etapa en #Netflix, a falta de ver The Midnight Club y la inminente The Fall of the House of Usher).
Excelsa revisitación libre del “Salem’s Lot” kingniano. Si aquella venía a ser una modernización del Drácula de Stoker con aroma a folletín de sobremesa, esta ofrece una irónica relectura vampírica del Nuevo Testamento, sobre cómo el fanatismo y las interpretaciones sesgadas y manipuladas de dicho texto conducen, una y otra vez, a los peores desastres en nombre de Dios.

#MidnightMass on #Netflix depicts the corruption of a small town’s #faith, from lukewarm #Catholicism to #fanaticism. With the exception of its use of literal plagues and monsters, this series represents #Christian #radicalization frighteningly well. Writer and director Mike Flanagan’s commentary on the utility of #religious faith echoes what many former #believers, like myself, have learned in our experiences with religious radicalization.
