I've eaten #wichettygrubs, and they taste like scallops (and yes, better broiled than raw or live), and when I've been putting together homemade suet cakes for my feathered friends, I used #mealworms. And you know, they have a very distinctive spicy savory smell when dried. Tempted to try them (but only if I raise and harvest them -- not the bird ones, which might not be fit for human consumption). What I'm trying to say is, don't knock it until you try it (and I thought the same about sushi).
