I've been collecting up shots of young birds in the garden and on the patch, for the year.

For the past couple of years, the Chaffinches that live in the hedge have brought and fed youngsters in the garden, hardly saw any this year and yet ..... there are zillions of them on the patch, all good!

Good morning tooters. I enjoyed a nice little sleep in this morning waking as the sky lightened at 6.30am. It was about 8c when I got up for my first cuppa of the day & it won’t be be getting much higher with a forecast of only 9c. We had quite a lot of rain yesterday - nearly 40mm & more forecast for today, but nowhere near as much.
I don’t have very much on the agenda today but there will be an exercise class & a visit down to the greengrocers & I’m considering rugging up & walking there & back. I know I’d enjoy the walk & be able to stay warm.
Omg there’s what I think is a Grey Shrikethrush in the garden. What a beautiful call it has. Apologies for the blurry pic, taken through my glass door & zoomed in. That’s just made my day, I love my feathered visitors.

This must be the cheekiest young blackbird. Out of the nest for two days and he is already chasing sparrows and picking gooseberries! Even in the nest he would sit up and look out whenever we went past! #gardenstuff #gardenbirds
