I want to see content bridged from bluesky in another color than mastodon content. Maybe a shade in the back, or something, so it's easy to spot and adapt accordingly.
#Bluesky is simply another ecosystem with other rules, other incentives, another culture and another population, structurally. -
Would like DMs / Direct Messages to be more obviously marked so that recipients have it made clear what they're receiving.
Would like the DM icon to be more noticable.
Maybe an option to have DMs always sent with a CW?
And an option to have DMs received get delivered with a CW? -
Mastodon Feature Request.
More in attached image...(including ALT text)
This is a Mastodon Feature Request I noted down on Etherpad.

@Sicoaxial your default posting language seems to be English.
That means that the Mastodon built-in translation tool won't work.(generally)
I wish that Mastodon had a "translation override" that would allow me to translate anything since I highly doubt most users will think about their posting language.
To be honest I think most users are gonna be like "I have to think about posting language? Bye, going back to X!".

Mastodon feature request: make it so that search results can be shared...since it takes so much resources from your servers that you'll only let logged in users search using quotation marks

#Mastodon #MastodonFeatureRequest
I'd like a filter that I can apply to individual accounts.
Maximum number of posts per 24 hours.
I see the first n posts and the rest are Muted.

Can anyone out there recommend an iOS Mastodon client that has the ability to filter out identical boosts? Or is there an account setting that can limit this that I haven't found?
A bunch of people I follow tend to boost similar content, so I tend to see the same posts (without additional content) repeatedly throughout the day, while I'd prefer posts appear on my timeline once, and get filtered after that.
Thanks in advance.

@ramsey Yes, but it would be nice if there was a prompt to optionally provide a reason when blocking someone, or maybe add a duration for a temporary block. #MastodonFeatureRequest

@danhon At the very least we should be able to share lists on here. #mastodonfeaturerequest

#MastodonFeatureRequest

I want the ability to add a CW to something I boost. 🤔 Is that compatible with how boosts are represented in #ActivityPub?
-
Mastodon really needs a post throttling / boosting feature for users to help tune their feed. Allow them to ensure important toots from quiet people aren't missed, and more frequent tooters don't flood the feed, w/out full on muting.
<especially for those who don't hastag>
#MastodonFeatureRequest -
#MastodonFeatureRequest: Currently, when a user I follow posts a long 1/∞ thread, where most of it is OP replying to self, I get notified for every post by OP in that thread. I'd like to be able to choose to not be notified of chained-replies-to-self posts. Or maybe, say, a threshold of 3 chained RTSes, past which the 4th RTS triggers sending only one more "click to read full thread" notification for that RTS chain.
-
I would love a list of the number of interactions I have had with each account. Mainly because I want to add those I obviously like but haven't added yet.
I posted a #MastodonFeatureRequest on #GitHub which you can support or argue against. If you are not a Github person you can just boost or argue here.

I would like to be able to invite friends to Mastodon and make it a bit easier by recommending the instance that I am on, which happens to be @sfba.social. That would remove the hurdle of choosing an instance, right?
Is this feature (menu item, "invite") a possibility?
I would choose "invite" from a menu, provide an email address for the person who I want to invite, and *my instance* is the default in their signup form. (They can change it, but best to not stress that point so that people don't start agonizing over whether they *should* change it and if so, what is currently the best instance available in the Fediverse to meet their individual needs.)

If I post on Facebook I don't want, I don't expect, my post to appear on Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube. If I post on Mastodon I don't want my content to go to Kbin, Lemmy, Threads (Meta's decentralized app), or a site/app I never heard of. I don't want my content going someplace that I did not *choose* as a destination.
I've gotten a number of federation fan boys lecturing me that is what the decentralization is all about.
Decentralization has been sold as a protective move against corporate abuse. Preventing another Elon Musk and protecting people from anti-user pro-profit policies.
Mastodon and open source are supposed to be about respecting users.
I think it should be a user's choice where her/his content ends up. I think it should be in their power to make that choice easily without having to rely on the good will of an Instance Admin.
I think each Toot & Reply should have the following visibility options.
1. Public - Everywhere
2. Private ( only @ tagged people )
3. Mastodon ( everywhere on Mastodon, only )
4. Local ( only on the local server of the user )Plus a Preference for the user to pick his/her default visibility level.

I wish #Mastodon would organize 🧵 from the first post of the thread starter rather than displaying every part of the thread in chronological order, with the newest posts first. It gets mixed up with other people's posts and makes it harder to interact with.

We need a feature to quote the post in Mastodon
-
-
I would like to be able to limit #tag search to a single user
-
Until it’s easier to swap in a list for the home timeline, I’m reaching the point where I need to unfollow folks I like so I don’t feel like I’m missing stuff from folks I love. That’s a bummer.
(Probably dumb) feature request: I wish there was a way for the most loquacious posters to optionally label their “best” toots so I could toggle between “all” or “best” when my feed is especially firehosey.
-
I guess this feature will allow to discover some other accounts, potentially increasing the number of followers for that account that got its post favorited.
The most exposure a post has in home timelines, the better chance to meet more alike accounts, related to my interests and to the accounts I follow.
-
I would like to see some day here on :mastodon: #mastodon an option where you can select to see #favourites from the accounts I follow in the Home #timeline (of course with their permission).
In other words:
* Here for me, the user who wants to see the favourited posts made by accounts I follow (pic 1)
* Here for them (account I follow) who allows his/her/its favorited posts to be seen or not in public timelines ("posting privacy" option - pic 2)
