I have a good friend in Kathmandu who spends a tonne of time helping with community projects and raising funds via a mob called Kiwanis.
He's just posted a bunch of shots to Facebook and IDK but every time I see that acronym KCFN my brain reads a different word entirely.
Anyway, there's a lot of good people in this world doing good stuff. Fkn cheers to them all.

Eigenlijk was ik van plan om morgen de paleizentocht van #Kiwanis in #Baarn te gaan lopen. Te voet naar het station (ruim een kwartier), 1 uur en 54 minuten met de trein en dan nog 2,5 kilometer lopen naar de start vind ik toch te veel...
En dan ben ik ook nog eens niet fit. Beetje verkouden en moe, lichte hoofdpijn, spierpijn en twee extreem drukke werkdagen achter de rug.
Dan maar een weekend rust. Even bijkomen...

So we’re there on the first day trees are for sale and they only have one variety in-stock—Fraser firs—same kind we had last year, but I can’t remember for sure.
I google the variety on the spot to check and see if they’re any good.
Search results prove favorable.
Back when I was a kid, you had to rely on personal knowledge, memory and experience to make such decisions.
Thank goodness that’s over.
Hauled the thing home and gravely accepted that two strands of lights were half-blown. We made do with them and went about the business of decorating. Been on this planet for 30-some-odd years and it hasn’t gotten old yet.
