“So teach us to number our days,
that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”
Psalm 90:12

On a yardstick, the life we live here is 1/8th of an inch. The rest is the life we will live in eternity.

A person who truly understands the shortness of this life in comparison to the one to come, will seek to know God, find the truth, and to discover the will of God in his/her life. This is wisdom, investing here for one’s life there.

How can it be that the children of the Kingdom have less wisdom than the children of the world? The children of the world spend years and years investing in their retirement so that when that time comes, they will be comfortable. How much more important is the investment of this life for the next. Those who realize how short this life is in comparison to the life they will live in eternity will spend their years here preparing for their future – there. This is wisdom..

The wise will seek revelation from God on the way to do it. For each person it will be different. Each one has a unique makeup, a unique gifting, a unique call, and a unique purpose, which can only be aspired to through prayer, asking God to reveal what HIS plan and desire is in one’s life, with a total willingness to forego their way for his way. It may be far different from what they thought. But once that decision has been made, an unexpected joy will enter their lives as they realize how personal his plan for them is. He has fitted them with the exact makeup and personality appropriate to their call, so that walking in that call will not be a burden but a joy.

A Special Mother’s Day Prayer

Today, we would like to send up a special prayer for mother’s who have children that are no longer with them, for the runaways, for those that are missing, and those that are in the prison system.

Heavenly Father,
We come before You with humble hearts, asking for Your comfort, strength, and peace to surround every mother carrying the pain of separation from her child. Lord, You know every tear that has fallen and every prayer that has been whispered in the night.

We pray for the children who have run away — that Your hand of protection would cover them wherever they are. Lead them away from danger and guide them back to safety, healing, and love.

We pray for those who are missing. Father, shine Your light into every dark place and bring answers, hope, and restoration to their families. Strengthen the hearts of mothers who wait and worry each day, and remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted.

We also lift up those who are in the prison system. Lord, let Your mercy reach them even behind prison walls. Transform hearts, restore minds, and remind them that no one is beyond Your grace and redemption. Give their mothers comfort, courage, and faith to keep believing for better days ahead.

Father, help us to be a community of compassion, support, and prayer. Teach us to carry one another’s burdens and to trust in Your unfailing love. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Really pleased and proud that my eldest daughter, Emma, has become a qualified cave leader (in addition to her mountain leader). She only started doing outdoor activities in her 40s, despite all my previous efforts.

My other daughter Claire was her assistant in the assessment making sure clients were clipped on properly for belays. Well done to her too.

Shows if you put your mind to something and enjoy it, anything is possible. Inspiring!

Prayer For Truth

Heavenly Father, Source of all eternal light and wisdom, I come before You seeking the clarity of truth in a world often shrouded in confusion, falsehoods, and half-truths. Lord, please shine Your divine light into the hidden places and bring what is disguised into the open. Grant me the discernment to recognize truth, and the courage to accept it, even when it is uncomfortable or challenges my own perceptions. Remove the blinders of deception, bias, and convenience from my eyes. Help me, Lord, to speak the truth in love, and to live with integrity in every action and word. Heavenly Father,
In Your boundless mercy and love,

Prayer Of Divine Protection

Heavenly Father: You are my foundation and my peace. Your Word says that in righteousness I will be established, and I hold on to that promise today. Build my life on what is right in Your sight—steady, strong, and unshaken.

An Easter Prayer

Heavenly Father,

On this Easter day, we come before You with grateful hearts, rejoicing in the victory of life over death and light over darkness. Thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, and for the hope we have through His resurrection.

A Palm Sunday Prayer

Heavenly Father,

On this Palm Sunday, we remember the day Your Son, Jesus Christ, entered Jerusalem in humility and peace, greeted with shouts of “Hosanna.” We lift our voices today in praise and adoration, welcoming Him into our hearts as our King and Savior.

Lord, just as the crowds laid down palm branches before Him, we lay down our burdens, our pride, and our fears at Your feet. Teach us to follow Jesus not only in moments of celebration, but also in times of challenge and sacrifice. Strengthen our faith so that it remains steady, even when the path is difficult.

Help us to truly understand the depth of Your love—a love that leads to the cross and beyond, bringing redemption and new life. Prepare our hearts this Holy Week to reflect, to grow, and to draw closer to You. May we walk in humility, serve with compassion, and proclaim Your goodness in all we do. An Early Morning Prayer

Gracious and loving God,
Thank You for the gift of this new day.
As the light of dawn awakens the world, awaken my heart to Your presence.
Fill my mind with peace, my words with kindness, and my actions with purpose.
Please grant me the wisdom to walk in truth,
the strength to face challenges with courage,
and the grace to see Your hand in all that unfolds.
Help me to bring light where there is darkness,
hope where there is doubt,
and love where there is need.

May this day reflect Your goodness through all I do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
