  1. THE MEN THEY COULDNT HANG
    Night Of A Thousand Candles
    1985 UK pressing

A Sunday morning spin of some #folk -y psychobilly #punk country from London in the #80s .

I bought this blind from a cheap bin while I was visiting a friend in Atlanta, Georgia around 2018.
We were killing some time before going to a Braves game, and I found this fun little record store in The Battery.

This was their first record, and it’s got more than a little bit of a Pogues-y vibe to it (albeit less loose and sloppy-sounding), which is probably why I like it so much.
Celtic/English folk with punk energy, it’s a very English sounding working-class kind of record.

    Great songs, great passion.
A record I’m always happy to revisit, but haven’t in a while.

Although I do like some of their records that came after, nothing tops this one for me. It’s just REALLY good.

  2. Treasures from the National Museum of Ireland are taking centre stage in Celtic Art Across the Ages at Harvard Art Museums, the first major exhibition in the United States dedicated to #Celtic art. Featuring remarkable objects such as the Somerset Hoard from Co. Galway, the exhibition showcases the creativity, craftsmanship and cultural connections of Iron Age Ireland within a wider European story that spans over 2,500 years.
