It was 18 years ago this month that my mom, Patricia and I sang at The Golden Lion Hotel on 'open mic' in Anchorage that evening and our late cousin Ramona and her husband Jerry filmed the whole thing.

I'm so grateful they took the time to be there to see us sing, bringing their camera to film and gave us this video footage that I cherish of those times.

45 years ago today, June 27, 1981, John Denver debuted at #44 on Billboard’s AC chart with “Some Days Are Diamonds (Some Days Are Stone)”. It went on to peak at #12 for three weeks and spent a total of 18 weeks in the AC Top 50.

This was one of my mom’s favorites. She bought the album about the time my little brother was born in July of 1981.
