The amount I have to manipulate #Google #ImageSearch queries is prompting Google to confirm I’m not a robot on a daily basis now. I would love to switch to some of the alternatives but they’re not good yet at finding some niche things I need to find, especially when it comes to older anime art. I know the results are still there but Google has made it more difficult to find hi-res results of specific images. I’m resorting to using #Reddit to crowdsource now, something I don’t like to do.

For no reason as all, a quick image search review. This covers reverse image searches.
Google -- Totally sucks. Say you put in an image of Obama. Sure, the first result will actually identify him and link to Wikipedia or something. But the rest of the results will be to signed pictures for sale on Ebay. Totally enshittified.
TinEye -- Put in Obama and you will get him identified, but no further images of him. Put in someone much less well known than Obama and you will get no results at all.
Yandex -- Winner and champion. Yes, the results will be in Russian (and yes, it is bad to support Russian companies) but you get an identification and a link to "similar images." Click on this and you get a stream of pictures (mostly) of Obama. Click on one of those pictures and (usually) you will get a pop that gives you a link to the image and another "similar images" link to start the infinite scroll again. Quite the rabbit hole! The only slight drawback (depending on what you are looking for) if you start with, say, a woman sitting on a couch in a luxury apt, you start getting celebrities. If you click on a picture that has a known person in it, you start getting only pix of that person. There doesn't seem to be a setting for "truly visually similar," not just the same person.

Does anyone have any good image search engine suggestions? The ones I've been attempting to use (Google, Brave) have been utter garbage. The former is absolutely polluted with AI monstrosities and the latter gives me maybe 5 tangentially relevant images to my query at best.
I did a simple search for photos of Steller Sea Lions (looking for reference photos for art) and the results were ridiculously worthless.

Watching an episode of "Robin Hood" staring Richard Greene, they had this image of a castle. It's probably just a stock shot, but I was wondering if anyone could identify it.
I've tried a Google Image search, but that didn't give anything.
So ... suggestions? Evidence?

Just found something interesting on a Bing SERP: they were not only showing individual images as usual, but were combining several images in one frame.
In the close-up image you can see current products as well as their predecessors. Meaning: these older images are not at all displayed on the website.
My guess is that the Bing algorithm groups images together, which have something in common - as long as they are to be found on that webserver.

End of June @rustybrick reported about larger product images for search snippets (https://www.seroundtable.com/google-larger-product-images-for-search-snippets-35612.html).
Now Google is at it again. This time they are not only showing new image variations, but surprisingly also mixing square and bigger 16:9 images on SERPs.
Seems to me that results with these square images will have a distinctively smaller chance to get clicks ... 🤔

When browser maker Brave launched a search engine two years ago, it used Brave's own index for links to websites, but relied on Microsoft Bing for image and video results. First time I have seen Google displaying results on an image SERP separated by meaning.
For words with multiple meanings, they were showing the first two lines for certain unique meanings and from the third line onwards for "Other results".
