I have actually un-joined my local International Coaching Federation chapter, because too much of zoom airtime was people pushing so called "AI" - either as admin assistant, or to provide services (even coaching! 😱 ) to coachees. Lots of FOMO (seriously?)
SO boring. Wasting my time.
There are important things we should be talking about. Like how to support the deep grief my clients experience as "AI" impersonates & displaces them, & their fear as it steals their jobs. 😭

@rayckeith I'm a life coach, and it upsets me that folks are offered chatbot "coaches" which can neither see them, nor interpret non-verbal audio clues. Not to mention no embodied, real-world context.
So much of my work - both receiving and sending - is *around* the words!

Lacking a human nervous system, an "AI" chatbot cannot create the resonance that help coachees experiment *beyond* assumptions & blind spots.

@jannem @rayckeith … worse yet is the FOMO (from professional coaches!): "You have to use AI or get left behind!" 🤦♀️
Our profession is deeply human: intuitive, empathetic, sensing between the words, things the speaker cannot see themself.
That's what my clients value in our work. Oh and also, the courage to challenge them, to call clients on the out-of-date or untrue stories they tell themselves. No "agreeable" chatbot gives them that.

I am astonished to still see colleagues offering programs with FB and Whatsapp "community" elements, in 2025!
Nope, nope, nope.Hopefully this will wake my colleagues up. Ours is a profession requiring deep trust and confidentiality. Meta products do not allow this.
(Oh, and: Meta consuming all their users' #AI transcripts and chatbot prompts!)

I was wary about delving into this - it feels awkward to discuss "I want more from my employer" in front of students. But when that employer pushes things to the point where the students' term may be disrupted, I owe them a frank discussion of how we can deal with this.
So proud of how they are taking it, and the thoughtful and considered questions they are asking!
(Also delighted at how sympathetic they are, given the stresses and expenses students face.)

On vacation … but I always encourage my clients to check if they don't see the time they want to book. And since I felt good about fitting it in …
I hopped on to help a coachee organise her thoughts and emotions, to get clear for a crucial conversation that's best to happen right away.
She's gonna have an impact 👍

@Cognessence 🤔 good metaphor for how I feel about so-called "AI coaching" (shudder).
So much of what I do with clients is non-verbal. Noticing & making visible:
▪ a pause
▪ an involuntary grimace
▪ a reversal from what they said last week
▪ tone of voice
▪ posture
▪ speed & energy
▪ mismatched words & body lang.
▪ avoiding a subjectI, too, could 'coach' via text message, taking all this 'extraneous' richness out. Even do it async!
But I choose to be human, and present.

By the way, I realise that cash flow can be tough when you're job hunting, and I'm always open to working out a payment plan, to make coaching possible when you need it most.

Reflecting on my week:
classes, clients, self-coaching …▪ I'm *so* impressed with how an #InternalFamilySystems approach is helping my clients access important insights, quickly. Check it out!
▪ A significant part of learning the method is doing our own inner work; I'm pleased & surprised at the calm & energy it's brought me.
▪ I learn so much better in the company of like-minded peers, especially when we have a structure where we can chat & share insights.
