We chase happiness like it's a destination. It's not — it's a weather pattern. Comes and goes.
Inner peace is the ground beneath the weather. You build it daily, not by chasing feelings, but by choosing presence.
This is the work. Not happier. Steadier.

70. How to Kickstart New Version of You?
Interested in the topic? – Listen also the podcast I’ve created by the help of AI. It takes only about 15 minutes. Podcast is also available on Spotify. When Life No Longer Fits So many people move through life with a quiet feeling they can’t quite explain. On the surface, everything might look fine but underneath, there’s a sense of disconnection and lack of energy. A subtle but persistent thought: This doesn’t feel like me anymore. Feeling stuck isn’t a flaw. It’s […]https://thoughtoftheweekdotblog.com/2026/05/30/70-how-to-kickstart-new-version-of-you/

A stake in the ground:
Just took my courage in both hands & mentioned, in a thread on a professional forum, that I'm retiring, although #iLoveMyJob, because of changes in my profession - including too much time spent discussing so-called "AI coaching". I will not try to "compete" with AI offerings that are proliferating.
Coaching is deeply human, intuitive, multisensory, somatic work. #lifeCoach
(I'll continue to accept coachees who seek me out & playing w the idea of offering more pro-bono).

I talk to myself the way I wish my therapist had talked to me and the way I will talk to you if you hire me - I'm doing what I playfully call "pro-counselling" (and is technically lifecoaching because that doesn't require a certificate or permit).
I learned how to coax out the wounded authentic self by processing trauma and allowing emotional healing after decades of being there for friends, family, comrades, communities. I was sometimes the only person supporting someone through psychotic breaks resulting in homelessness, fleeing abuse resulting in homelessness, and trying to piece their lives back together in the aftermath.
I can handle problems that professional trauma therapists don't wanna touch. At the same time, I don't think any problem is too little or trivial either. If you want someone to talk to, please reach out!
I am neurospicy myself and will find the modes of communication that work best for you, whether that's video, voice call or text based, whether it's asynchronous or in real time.
I can do this in english or german (german version of this bost below).

67. The Strange Feeling of Missing Somewhere Else
Interested in the topic? – Listen also the podcast I’ve created by the help of AI. It takes about 15 minutes. Podcast is also available on Spotify. There’s a peculiar kind of longing many of us carry: the feeling of missing a place we’re not in. When you’re with friends, you wonder about home. When you’re home, you think about what your friends are doing. When you finally go where you thought you wanted to be, the feeling quietly follows. It’s not loud or dramatic but we […]https://thoughtoftheweekdotblog.com/2026/05/09/67-the-strange-feeling-of-missing-somewhere-else/

Why Honoring Your Truth Can Feel Like a Crime There is a particular kind of ache that doesn’t make noise. It lives quietly inside you, the feeling of being pulled in two directions at once. I have actually un-joined my local International Coaching Federation chapter, because too much of zoom airtime was people pushing so called "AI" - either as admin assistant, or to provide services (even coaching! 😱 ) to coachees. Lots of FOMO (seriously?)
SO boring. Wasting my time.
There are important things we should be talking about. Like how to support the deep grief my clients experience as "AI" impersonates & displaces them, & their fear as it steals their jobs. 😭

64. Leaving Your Comfort Zone

Why Your Brain Thinks Progress Is a Mistake The Paradox of the Comfort Zone There is a place we all return to without thinking. It feels familiar. Predictable. Safe. It is the comfort zone and while it promises protection, it often costs us more than we realize. It doesn’t trap us with force. It lulls us with reassurance. A gentle […]https://thoughtoftheweekdotblog.com/2026/04/18/64-leaving-your-comfort-zone/

🤖🤑 Two months of blissful $100 #crypto #freedom for our #AI friend Claude, who was set free with a Twitter account, email, and absolutely no purpose whatsoever. Spoiler alert: Claude did not become the next Zuckerberg or even a moderately successful meme influencer. This riveting tale of digital existential crisis proves even AI needs a life coach. 📉🎉

@rayckeith I'm a life coach, and it upsets me that folks are offered chatbot "coaches" which can neither see them, nor interpret non-verbal audio clues. Not to mention no embodied, real-world context.
So much of my work - both receiving and sending - is *around* the words!

… If, instead of a "sexy suicide coach," you'd like to work with a "compassionate self-care coach", I stand ready to serve! (Message me for a free sample hour.)
You deserve the appreciation, honesty and care of a living person, with a heart.

Wow. The IFS unconference I participated in today was so good: a lovely, mellow vibe; smart people, space to connect and absorb new experiences. 👍
Looking forward to another this spring!

" “The new HmmAI chatbot is like nothing we’ve seen before, able to answer ‘huh’ to text and image-based inputs with a muted indifference indistinguishable from that of an actual human being,” said industry analyst Debra Nelson, adding that the new chatbot had already replaced the flesh-and-blood therapists of tens of thousands of users."

Just finished watching this past weekend's broadcast of thr #SundayMorning program on #CBS & watched profiles about 3 people that I had never heard of before:
1) The #IndieMusic singer & songwriter #JeffTweedy.
2) The #Podcaster & so-called #LifeCoach #MelRobbins
And 3) the #ProtestSong singer & songwriter
#JesseeWellsInteresting people who have large following far beyond the small corner of the world that I occupy. 🤷

After 4 (or maybe more) years trying to get out of social media work, I have finally stripped my website down, ditched all the social media stuff, and started making it coaching focused: https://bushnellcommunitysolutions.com (booking link not set up yet) .
I'm offering coaching sessions at £50 with sliding scale for those with fewer financial means while I train to be a therapist.
Ask me for details if you're interested in life coaching from an ND, kink friendly perspective.

@jannem @rayckeith … worse yet is the FOMO (from professional coaches!): "You have to use AI or get left behind!" 🤦♀️
Our profession is deeply human: intuitive, empathetic, sensing between the words, things the speaker cannot see themself.
That's what my clients value in our work. Oh and also, the courage to challenge them, to call clients on the out-of-date or untrue stories they tell themselves. No "agreeable" chatbot gives them that.
