This #Ichneumon #wasp (Crypteffigies lanius) never recorded in Sussex before, seen by @[email protected] in a #Brighton garden in 2022! Record has recently been confirmed here. They have mainly been seen near Sheffield, about 30 years ago. #Wildlife #Biodiversity #brightonwildlife

The most obvious #moth in the four frames from last night was Gastrophora henricaria (#Geometridae) in frame 4. It's not showing its wonderful hindwings in that shot, but here it is from earlier in the night, with a large #ClickBeetle (#Elateridae) that kept hiding under its wings and an #ichneumon #wasp.

1. #Ichneumoninae sp. - I'll key out at least the genus soon.

2. #Orthocentrus sp. (#Ichneumonidae) - probably the commonest #ichneumon #wasp (or set of externally similar species) in my garden

3. #Pentacladus eucalypti (a #BarkLouse #Elipsocidae)

4. #Lamiinae sp. (a #LonghornBeetle #Cerambycidae) - I always find these harder to identify than I would expect
