Following up on the theme about our attitude towards insects (I'm talking about this post: https://mastoart.social/@enriquericos/117073093206587882) here's a story about a woman who didn't immediately obliterate a wasp nest, but decided to share her space with it:
“My first thought was: ‘Oh no, I have to get rid of that now.’ But then I realised: ‘Wait, why? Why do I have to do that?’”

The wasps who have made their house under the awning of the office are all calming down, not that they have been a nuisance. It is a lovely structure as well.

Went for a walk on a gravel road and was stung by a bee on separate occasions at my ankles.
Whatever would have attracted tge bees to attack my ankles so aggressively.

It looks like there are 2 hummingbird kids zooming around the nectar feeder. They are fattening up for their trip south later this month. And the big, solitary wasps have started to appear. #birds #birdphotography #wildlifephotography #photography #nature #naturephotography #hummingbird #wasp #HoosierMast

This is an Astata Wasp, carrying a 2nd Instar stinkbug nymph that has been stung enough to paralyze it , making it easy to carry to her nest.
Once inside her nest, she will deposit the live stinkbug and lay an egg on it. The wasp will collect several stinkbugs per egg and eventually a larval wasp will emerge and devour the stinkbugs, allowing it to develop and spin a cocoon and emerge a year later as an adult Astata wasp.We’re sharing our property with these wasps for over a decade and plant the garden with native flowers and shrubs that provide for the wasps and the stinkbugs.

Música, siesta, salir y unas birras, es sinónimo de vivir. Y cómo dijo Camus sin buscar su significado, ahora, la vida es para vivirla.
