I have advocated the abolition of the Monarchy for as far back as I can remember. Many people that are opposed to my views pointed out that HM Queen Elizabeth II brought a stability to this country that an elected head of state could not have achieved.
My argument was always that her son would never be able to achieve anything like that when he ascended the throne.
This particular republican is now sitting and eating his Humble Pie and actually grateful towards the King for saying exactly what needed to be said in a way that emphasised that people that have lived their entire lives expecting a role are sometimes better than those that campaigned to become democratically elected to that role!

Humble Pie - Town and Country
There was definitely something in the water in the UK in the late 60s/early 70s, and Humble Pie (a supergroup formed by the Small Faces' Steve Mariott, Peter Frampton, Greg Ridley, and Jerry Shirley) took a big ole swig.
This LP is on the mellower side of blues rock, with a strong roots influence. You can hear Zeppelin, the Band (yes, I know not UK), etc. all mining the same vein.
Very nice restoration/pressing/mastering.

#nowplaying From the #vinyl collection, this one was in the “might list for sale” stack. Not! Great condition, and tho I’m completely unfamiliar with #HumblePie, side two has this magnificent set of #gospel #blues with a touch of rock ‘n’ roll, amazing! It’s a keeper! He sure left me some excellent treats.
