We waren gisteren weer in het #HomeComputerMuseum. Blijft toch mooi, al die spullen. Ik heb een BASIC programmatje gemaakt voor een exotische computer uit m'n geboortejaar, terwijl de koter Unreal Tournament zat te spelen op een PC met balletjesmuis van 15 jaar voor zíjn geboortejaar. 😁
Jammer dat het 1,5 uur rijden is naar Helmond. 😅

Last but not least here are two game consoles, a rare #Apple #Pippin and an #Atari #Jaguar (I'm sure @Datassette_User will like this).
In fact, there are a dozen consoles and microcomputers connected, powerd up and ready to use at the #HomeComputerMuseum in #Helmond, #Netherlands - and of course, the museum is #airconditioned ... 🧊

... I haven't taken too many photos as I was busy trying out things and enjoying the huge collection of old systems.
I can strongly recommend a visit to the #HomeComputerMuseum in #Helmond, in the #Netherlands: they have a huge collection and many systems are available for you to touch and try out.

Vandaag als VIP rondgeleid in het @homecomputermuseum in Helmond. Wat een feest van herkenning! En ja, de Sinclair ZX81 waar ik altijd bij liep te kwijlen lag er. En ook de Philips NMS9100, mijn eerste eigen PC DOS ervaring, kon ik weer achter kruipen. Bijna alle computers werken.
Ik kan niet anders zeggen dan: ga er een keer kijken!

Big news! The second Aesthedes is working and the first one is now fully working!
The Aesthedes, the first commercial available CAD-computer, from 1985, is now fully operational.
3 of the 6 screens are broken (but fixable, but the system boots and responds as should be.
We're absolutely thrilled that we managed to get this one up and made the older one now function a full 100% as it was back in the day.

Visited the #HomeComputerMuseum in #Helmond, #TheNetherlands today with my partner. The whole place is cool. I felt like a kid on the playground.
But my favourite must be that I ticked off a #bucketlist item of mine. Playing on a #Nintendo #VirtualBoy ! They got it out of the display for me to try. I must say, it's pretty cool. I expected worse from all the horror stories. My partner was less a fan, it made his eyes hurt 😅.

Since this month, we have the piracy museum/collection in-house. Around 2000 illegal disks and cassette tapes with movies, software, and music. The stories behind brands like Twilight, Crazy Bytes, WinWarez, Braun MTV Charts, and Moviebox are now shared in the music, as well as the hunt from the copyright authority to stop this. It's a piece of culture and fits right in the museum! #HomeComputerMuseum #retro #museum

The Aesthedes 1 had ten Motorola 68000 processors, 2Mb RAM, three 20" monitors, and three other smaller data screens, rendering images on a canvas of up to 64000x64000 pixels. Plus a tablet, and lots of fancy colourful buttons!
The #Aesthedes 2 had two Motorola 68020 processors plus an early GPU!
