  1. @alvaro,

There's a workaround, that reiterates the power of open standards as demonstrated by the awesome #HTTP protocol that goes as follows:

    1. Use the "Get Link to Range" feature to generate a URL for a range of cells
    2. Make an HTTP GET request using a URL that includes a parameter that indicates format preferences e.g. #CSV.

    Example:

    Given the #GoogleSpreadsheet at:
    docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d.

    Obtain CSV via:
    docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d

    #HowTo

  3. @davew,

I would hope an ability to query your #RSS and #OPML feeds directly using Text Search, #SQL, #GraphSQL, or #SPARQL would fit that bill re data flow and connectivity :)

    Audience?
End-users, power-users, and developers who are happy to work with a #Hyperlink as a Data Source Name (#DSN).

    App Examples?

    1. Spreadsheets (#GoogleSpreadsheet, #Excel, #Airtable)
    2. Various notebooks (#Jupyter, #Observablehq etc..)
    3. Data Visualization Tools
    4. Content Management
    5. etc

  5. @bobwyman,

    Yes!

BTW -- using an #HTTP-based #Hyperlink as an Entity Name addresses the concerns you've raised.

Thanks to the #Fediverse, the power of hyperlink-base entity names will become increasingly obvious, as hashtags demonstrate right now 😀

    Here's a publicly accessible #GoogleSpreadsheet that demonstrates hyperlink-based unambiguous entity names (a/k/a #WebID).

  7. @mauforonda,

    Great, I'll take a look.

I use the #GoogleSpreadsheet as an open #database from which various renditions can be generated e.g., a highly discoverable, navigable, declarative query language friendly #KnowledgeGraph etc 😀

  9. @mauforonda,

As a baseline for the #CSV exported, shouldn't it mirror what's currently displayed re column names?

I ask because the download I have only includes: Address, Show Boosts, Notify on new Posts, Languages.

I am interested in building a @Mastodon accounts #KnowledgeGraph from this kind of CSV output.

See my publicly shared #GoogleSpreadsheet to get a feel for what I am doing.

  11. @judell,

Since appending ".rss" to a @Mastodon hashtag search results page offers an #RSS rendition, one can also query directly from RSS-aware clients such as our #VirtuosoRDBMS.

    Examples using #SPARQL.

    1. tinyurl.com/2p88x3fw -- schema.org scoped

    2. tinyurl.com/2p9bcdfb -- general

    Notes:

    1. you can decompose query url to see its constituent parts
    2. use the results HTML table for #GoogleSpreadsheet import using importHtml() function
    3. alter results format e.g., prefer #CSV etc..

  13. Extending my #GoogleSpreadsheet based #Database with new tabs per additional data source related to
    #Mastodon accounts.

Naturally, that #spreadsheet will also double as foundation for #KnowledgeGraph generation that supports #SQL, #GraphQL and #SPARQL access.

    Note the new #Wikidata tab!

  15. @simon,

The following also resolves to a page comprising an HTML Table that isn't readable via the ImportHtml() provided by #GoogleSpreadsheet for accessing Tables.

  17. @simon,

    This is really cool!

BTW -- is it possible for you to include #URLs for #JSON and #CSV that resolve directly?

Currently, I am getting the following:

    1. cURL against CSV link -- tinyurl.com/fe5ss26a

    2. cURL against JSON link -- tinyurl.com/4d58k5sw

Also, it would help in HTML Table is usable from ImportHtml() in a #GoogleSpreadsheet :)

  19. @judell,

This dashboard would benefit from the following:

    1. #CSV output option (possibly via content-negotiation for redirection from main doc #URL)

    2. #HTML table construction that's readable by the #GoogleSpreadsheet ImportHtml() function

Once in place, lifting data from the dashboard would be easier for a broad spectrum of #HTTP clients :)
