Ce qui est bien dans le thème de cette super interview de celui qui, comme pour beaucoup d'autres, m'a permis de passer sous Linux il y a bien longtemps. J'avais même acheté la boite des CD chez SURCOUF !!! -

@dimregnier We are legion! C'était le motto de Mozilla lorsqu'ils avaient lancé #FirefoxOS en pure HTML/JS... Et ça va très bien ici aussi.

Maybe its just anecdotal but it seems that in previous eras attempts at #opensource mobile, #linuxmobile etc were targeting low end devices, whereas now they seem to be targeting the latest "mainstream".
The most extreme low end effort was maybe the #firefoxos ZTE devices, cute little plasticky things.
The difference can be quite material (> 500 versus < 200 in some monetary units).
No idea what best strategy to reach mass adoption but maybe chasing the giant phone selfie crowd is not it? 🤣

My gut feeling is that the gate to a whole universe of amazing alternatives is in the direction of reimagining and reinventing the role of mobile devices. There have been intriguing attempts in this direction (e.g., once I had a #firefoxos phone) but the chokehold of the duopoly cartel is dramatic and does not allow experimentation. It is no accident: liberate mobile and you can change the world

Première semaine passée avec le #fairphone 6 #murena suite au décès pas du tout prématuré de mon #ZTE #FirefoxOS
Et première reflexion : comment en est-on arrivé à un écosystème applicatif #android où on est maintenant obligé d'avoir un appareil avec un bouton forçant le blocage des "distractions" ? Genre y a pas moyen de dire "pas de notifications" ou "arrête la caméra" et que le système et les applications qu'il contient obéissent ????
C'est un truc que je trouve absolument effrayant !

Tu a fait ton œuvre pendant 11 ans sans broncher, même après avoir fait un vol plané d'une dizaine de m sur le quai du métro 8 😄
J'te demandais pas grand chose, juste tel et sms, et tu le faisais.
Mais c'est derniers mois, tu avais de + en + de mal à démarrer... jusqu'à ne plus vouloir t'allumer.
Place au #Fairphone 6 de chez #Murena
Espérons qu'il tienne aussi longtemps.

Aurais-je donc droit à une 12e saison ?
C'est tout de même un signe qu'il est en fin de vie.
Et tout comme #TheWalkingDead aurait du se finir avec la 5e saison, je crois que j'ai poussé le #zte #FirefoxOS dans ces derniers retranchements et qu'il est temps d'arrêter les frais.
Le reboot me laisse cependant le temps de commander tranquillement son successeur, sans se précipiter.
Qu'il tienne encore 1 mois ou 2, jusqu'aux fêtes de fin d'années, et il pourra reposer en paix 🙂 .

Bon alors PLOT TWIST de fin de saison de la mort qui tue : à force de le brancher / débrancher, enlever / remettre la batterie, et essayer de le redémarrer un nombre incalculable de fois depuis hier après-midi sans succès, et alors que j'avais ressortit mon vieux tel à clapet en dépannage, v'l'a t'y pas que ce #ZTE #FirefoxOS finalement increvable vient tout juste d'accepter de rebooter !!!! 🥳🥳🥳
Et il est passé à l'heure d'hiver comme un grand ! 😄

Il n'était pas passé à l'heure d'hiver cette nuit, donc je l'ai redémarré, et là, c'est le drame : il ne boot plus !
11 ans de bons et loyaux services (acheté en septembre 2014).
Bon, il faisait pas grand chose d'accord, mais il faisait ce que je lui demandais.
Je devais être le dernier être humain sur Terre à utiliser FirefoxOS.
Vais sans doute passer sur Fairphone 6 /e/OS.
