  1. Friday #Workout:
    20 minutes of yoga.
    20 minutes of strength training.
    5.2 KM of #Walking with @TAV (light rain, 15℃, 96% humidity, and 6 KM/H wind).

Longer workouts this morning then TAV and I walked to city hall to vote.

I was *not* impressed by the scanners I had to pass my backpack through to go vote. Peak theatre, as there were two pocket knives in my backpack leftover from #FestivalLife. Time to vote: bit over 9 minutes. The ghost bikes at city hall always make me pause.

  2. (late) Sunday #Workout:
    18 KM of #Cycling (18°C).
Long last day for the public, with some great music to wrap up the festival with. Got home just shy of 2am. And of course, ice cream back stage made the long day easier.

    (late) Monday Workout:
    20.2 KM of Cycling (9℃, 65% humidity, and 23 KM/H wind, gusts to 32KM/H).
Last day of #FestivalLife for me and @TAV for the year.

  3. (late) Saturday #Workout:
    20.2 KM of #Cycling (13℃, 57% humidity, and 13 KM/H wind).

Good rides for day ten of #FestivalLife, and some extra riding around site. Good time catching up with everyone on site.

  4. Friday #Workout:
    24 KM of #Cycling (17℃, 55% humidity, and 24 KM/H wind with 33 KM/H gusts).

Another day of no workouts before heading to day nine of #FestivalLife. Fair bit of biking around the site at one point, clocked 4KM going between various points to take care of something.

Big fire in Sandy Hill tonight; smelled/saw the smoke on the ride home and detoured to investigate. On Cobourg at Stewart, with at least ten fire engines in attendance.

  5. (late) Thursday #Workout:
    15.3 KM of #Cycling (16°C, 78% humidity, with a 10 KM/H wind).

No morning workouts, early start to day eight of #FestivalLife to fill some fresh requirements. Overall, everything is chugging along, doing our part to making the music happen.

  6. Wednesday #Workout:
    20 minutes of yoga.
    14.7 KM of #Cycling (19°C, 85% humidity, with a 12 KM/H wind).

Too many downward dogs yoga, and a very busy day at day seven of #FestivalLife. Fantastic first night. So many people cycled to the site that (from what I can tell) the bike parking overflowed! Six of our team bike in too. Zzzzzzzzzzz

  7. Tuesday #Workout:
    20 minutes of yoga.
    10 minutes of strength training.
    20.9 KM of #Cycling (17℃, 69% humidity, and 15 KM/H wind).

Tough workouts to start day six of #FestivalLife off before the ride to site and then spending the day pointing at things in light rain, and then biking home. Opening day for CityFolk tomorrow.

  8. Monday #Workout:
    20 minutes of yoga.
    10 minutes of strength training.
    20.9 KM of #Cycling (13°C, 80% humidity, with a 18 KM/H wind).

Good work-outs, think we'll be doing more yoga than strength training this week. Muscles are sore and we're both *tired*.

Day five of #FestivalLife was pretty good; lots done, and our team is great.

Tomorrow the days start getting longer, and the music starts Wednesday.

  9. Sunday #Workout:
5 minutes of strength training (tea-steeping movement snack)
    5.5 KM of #Walking with @TAV (21℃, 28 humidex, 92% humidity, and 17 KM/H wind).

Good morning of reading before wandering out for brunch and running errands. Now doing laundry (normally a Monday chore), but Monday we'll be starting the full-time #FestivalLife for CityFolk which opens on Wednesday.

Now, some quality digital puttering and reading while I finish laundry, and maybe then a movie or two.

  10. Saturday #Workout:
    18.4 KM of #Cycling (14°C,90% humidity, with a 8 KM/H wind) to and from #FestivalLife day four.

    Got unreasonably warm today.

Then we got a Signal message from one of our team that they were going to the NCC (National Capital Commission) BikeNite here in #Ottawa, so we ended up being five and added another 10KM to my cycling distance for the day.

So many cyclists! It was great.

  11. Friday #Workout:
    10 minutes of yoga.
    20 minutes of strength training.
    18 KM of #Cycling (12°C, 81% humidity, with a 8 KM/H wind).

Really tough strength workout, both of us really felt that one! Good rides to and from day three of #FestivalLife.

Hoping for a short day tomorrow. I have books awaiting my attention.

  12. Thursday #Workout:
    20 minutes of yoga.
    10 minutes of strength training.
33 minutes of strength training (aka unloading the truck).
    17.7 KM of #Cycling (18℃, 74% humidity, and 26 KM/H wind, gusts 40 KM/H).

Good workouts, good ride to site, and second day of #FestivalLife is over.

Did totally normal IT things like driving a scissor lift and clambering around on a roof.

  13. Wednesday #Workout:
    10 minutes of yoga.
    20 minutes of strength training.
44 minutes of strength training (loading gear)
    19.8 KM of #Cycling (light rain, 15℃, 97% humidity, and 10 KM/H wind).

First day of #FestivalLife, CityFolk edition. So much cycling in the rain. 🤷🏻

  14. Tuesday #Workout:
    20 minutes of yoga.
    10 minutes of strength training.
    11.6 KM of #Walking (light rain, 16℃, 97% humidity, and 9 KM/H wind).

Good workouts, then a decent longer walk in the ending light rain. Another trip up the stairs behind Parliament Hill, building up the strength in the knee.

Tomorrow, the circus of #FestivalLife starts up again.

  15. Sunday #Workout:
5 minutes of strength training (movement snack while tea was steeping).
    29.1 KM of #Cycling with @TAV (16°C, 84% humidity, with a 13 KM/H wind).

Lazy morning until we went out to test our route to the upcoming #FestivalLife site that starts in a few days, then to brunch, and then to the @ByMUG picnic. Great time catching up with everyone, biked home and watched Mayday (callsheetapp.com/movie/1137844).

  16. Monday #Workout:
    10 minutes of yoga.
    20 minutes of strength training.
    30.2 KM of #Cycling (18°C, 100% humidity, and 9 KM/H wind).

…and we're back to tracking workouts after the holidays (though we were still plenty active during, I'll see about a summary).

Good workouts, and a very wet ride that was basically cycling in a cloud. My glasses got covered with water regularly; stopped three times to blow the water off.

A week or so before the next #FestivalLife starts.

  17. Festival culture is changing when a ticket starts competing with the cost of a holiday.

At some point the question stops being “Who is playing?” and becomes “What kind of experience am I buying?”

Would you rather attend one big festival or several small ones?

  18. I'm nearly done the podcast backlog from #FestivalLife, and then this morning as I'm heading out for my long ride, two *four hour* episodes from two different infrequent podcasts dropped. Thanks to @overcastfm's speed enhancements, I'm about half way done with the first of those.

And, I'd also like to draw your attention to the Team Deakins podcast (S2, E204,Janice Blackie-Goodine). If you're interested in #FilmMaking, I highly recommend this show, and specifically, this episode.

  19. Monday #Workout:
    10 minutes of yoga.
    10 minutes of strength training.
    4.6 KM of #walking (°C, % humidity, with a KM/H wind).

Tough morning; started off low-energy, plagued by internet connectivity issues, got started with the two workouts, a roundabout walk for groceries, followed by an early meeting, so no time for a ride.

Playing catchup after #FestivalLife is … annoying.

  20. Sunday #Workout:
10 minutes of strength training in two "movement snacks".
    13.5 KM of #Cycling with @TAV (25°C, 30 humidex, 62% humidity, and 6 KM/H wind).

Morning of reading, tea, and then getting moving for our first brunch of the post #FestivalLife season. As we were biking along, we past LeBreton - getting close to cleared out - before continuing on and came across the Ceremonial Guard on their way to Parliament Hill. Brunch was good, with crunch bacon.

  21. Now that #FestivalLife is completely over and done, I can share the photo on my pass. As you can clearly see, I take myself very seriously. #Selfie

  22. Wednesday #Workout:
    20 minutes of yoga.
    24.1 KM of #Cycling (16° C, 79% humidity, and 26 KM/H wind, gusts 40 KM/H).

Slept in for an hour, before starting the day with some yoga to try and restore some normalcy after the festival. Went for a bike ride, using the freshly re-opened pathway below Parliament Hill for the first time in four years, then stopping at #FestivalLife to do some last bits of work in my area of responsibility, then continuing biking.

  23. (late) Monday #Workout:
    12.2 KM of #Cycling (17°C, 67% humidity, & 26 KM/H wind).

We largely finished tearing our equipment out of the park, packed it up, and loaded the truck.

    Tuesday #Workout:
    65 minutes of strength training.
    19 KM of #Cycling (20°C, 23 humidex, 63% humidity, & 12 KM/H wind).

We finished loading, unloaded all the gear into storage, and went for a #FestivalLife celebratory lunch, and then got caught in the thunderstorm as some of us bike-bussed home as a group. All done.

  24. (late) Saturday #Workout:
    14 KM of #Cycling (16°C, 96% humidity, with a 15 KM/H wind).

Another day of #FestivalLife, cycling in, did some things, listened to some music, and rode home with @TAV.

It is interesting how everything seems to settle in the day before we're almost done. 🤷🏻

  25. (late) Friday #Workout:
    14.3 KM of #Cycling (24°C, 36% humidity, with a 14 KM/H wind).

Another ride to #FestivalLife, some riding around the site, and then biking home with @TAV. Bonkers day, full of excellent music.
