  6. In the end I decided not to go to the Academy of Fine Arts. Before I started working in IT, I worked as a journalist for a Polish newspaper. Journalism has always been a passion of mine, but unfortunately, it wasn’t very well paid.

I never completely gave up on that passion, though, and this October… I’m starting a Master’s degree at the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies at the University of Warsaw.

I decided I wanted to focus more on journalism than art, which is why I chose the University of Warsaw. Although the specialization I’ll be doing is Photography, Film, Television and Reportage.

I don’t want to make art just for the sake of making art. And this might sound a little naive, but I want to actually “change” something and do something good for people.

  10. Untitled photo, possibly related to: Family between Dallas and Austin, Texas. The people have left their home and connections in South Texas, and hope to reach the Arkansas Delta for work in the cotton fields. Penniless people. No food and three gallons of gas in the tank. The father is trying to repair a tire. Three children. Father says, "It's tough but life's tough anyway you take it" -- Dorothea Lange -- 1936 -- Farm Security Administration/Office of War Information Black-and-White Negatives -- Library of Congress Prints and Photographs Division -- Call Number: LC-USF34- 009742-C [P&P]

As ICE adopt electric shock gloves to hurt and humiliate their victims, let us all remember these impoverished migrants from the USA's not so distant past, sense a common humanity, and reject the cruelty of the Trump administration.

  11. Dingle’s Gentle Sentinel

Many years ago while travelling on the Dingle Peninsula we came across a donkey in a field in Muiríoch. I posted a photo of him in 2007 and again in 2008 but I happened to come across this photo of him and did a little work on the photo.

There’s a chance this donkey is still alive. Hopefully he’s well cared for and enjoying his elder years.

  12. Mobile Appetite

One of the food trailers at the Skibbereen market on the day I visited in 2019 was “Little Green Shoot”. They’re on Facebook, but haven’t updated since 2020 so they may not be operating any more. A lot has happened since then.
