  4. Check out the April #drought #outlook from the #NOAA #NWS #Climate Prediction Center.

    Good news for some areas, like East TX, OR, UT, and western NE, which should all expect improving conditions and even drought removal. It's not such a happy outlook for the Southern Plains and Florida, nor for the stretch from NC to the Mid-Atlantic that has been drying out these last few weeks.

  5. The remarkable turn of fortune in the #West continued this week with #drought conditions looking as good as they've been in almost two years. Across the region, the extent of drought decreased to 35.6%, down from last year's high of 91%. In Nevada, the extent of drought decreased this week from 80 to 49%. It dropped from 73 to just 29% in Idaho.

    Conditions continued to degrade in TX, Puerto Rico, and parts of the Upper South/Mid-Atlantic. Meanwhile, it was another week of significant #drought improvement for the West, especially in NV and ID. Overall, the extent of drought across the U.S. and Puerto Rico decreased over three percentage points, down to 25.7%. 45.6 million people are now affected by drought.
