Наткнулся сегодня (24-12-30) на преинтереснейшую ошибку. Простенький скрипт ищет файл по дате создания в имени, и вместо вчерашнего дня (24-12-29) почему-то ищет файл за следующий год (25-12-29). Казалось бы, мистика, всё прекрасно работало с лета, и как на зло сломалось как раз под конец года ... и кто в этом виноват?

@9to5Mac I’m amazed that it even uses the insane m/d/yyyy format. Who in the world of computing doesn’t use yyyy/mm/dd for their logic?
This makes me question the report that this mistake is the reason for the erroneous roll-out.

- and today it reads:
Wed-3rd-Mar-2024
Only today is the 6th March, so what should I fix in the date format to accurately reflect today's (aka the current) date?
[ I have already checked and my system clock / date is telling the correct time and date ]

I’ve been to the US too often and for far too long. When we returned from out trip there was a letter with in the mailbox with a date for (mandatory) water quality tests. Put it in my calendar for Friday. Well, it was today.
Date in the letter was July 4th and my brain picked it up as 7/4, ignored the send half and thought it would be July 7th. It was today, July 4th.
Hey dear friends in the US, what about making #ISO8601 #dateformat the form. In return you get to keep Fahrenheit. Deal?

M/D/Y date formating makes perfect sense for societies where knowing the season is more important than knowing the year.

Hey, let's just appreciate that today's date consists of only `0`s and `2`s and on top of that it reads the same in any format, i.e. `02.02.2022` and `02/02/2022`.
It's just a good day to read your date and don't make a mistake;)

https://fosstodon.org/@lig/106309459744998841The only correct answer is October the 11th. There is no doubt that the recent trend in the media to put day before month separate by the slash did the job confusing a lot of people.
If you really want to put day first and month after that, use the dot.
So, the correct format for November the 10th can be "11/10" or "10.11".
When in doubt use ISO style: "2021-11-10". Anyway, is a good idea to always specify the year. -
