An electronics expert working for the secret service suddenly retires; M9 needs to know why and Blake takes his place; he follows the clues to an island off Japan, Shinda Shima, a place where there have been several unexplained deaths.

I found that #DangerMan / #SecretAgentMan is on Prime (as is #ThePrisoner and #TheSaint ). I love the Prisoner, but I’d never seen #PatrickMcGoohan in Danger Man before.

It’s a very fast paced show. At ~23 minutes, they cram in a plot that really deserves a 50 minute episode (like the Saint), so there’s no wasted moments. Even the dialog is rapid fire.

I appreciate McGoohan’s skill at taking on different personas and accents.

I can see why they wanted him for #JamesBond .

Danger Man episode It’s Up to the Lady (1965) was originally entitled ‘The Defector’. Charles, a British civil servant, defects and John Drake follows his wife Paula as she travels to be with him. Drake then tries to get Paula to persuade Charles to go back to England. Paula is played by Sylvia Syms.
