First time to the Aga Khan museum via Crosstown. Train managed 23 km/h between Ionview and AKP, which I suppose will have to do. Much nicer riding it when it wasn't jam-packed.

I rode the finally-open Eglinton Crosstown today and it is *slow*. It didn't even average 20 km/h, and other vehicles were passing us.

Eglinton LRT apparently enters its last day of testing today according to Metrolinx CEO
There was never truly transparency as when they started true revenue testing and if they stopped or reset the testing after the ward accident, but i guess we will take every good news.

Crosstown is running trains that match the schedule at the stops: every three minutes or so at rush hour. Escalators are running at Kennedy Station. Info boards show Line 5 running with no issues.

I don’t really trust #metrolinx seeing how they did the stations on the Eglinton lane. Tons of valuable real estate wasted by small stations that are taking the whole block. No condo or business on top, nothing, at places where the amount of pedestrians will be super high.

It’s a bit of horseshit. I have serious doubts it’s the software that is holding the entire thing for years. For once, software could have been worked on years ago.

🚇 Construction permits have been officially closed for 14 of 15 stations, along with 22 at-grade stops and other non-passenger facilities such as the LRV maintenance facility.
🚊 17 #TTC trainers set to begin training 110 LRV operators.
#️⃣ Track alignment issues have been resolved.
💿 Signaling and train control software defects “substantially removed.”
🗓️ Opening date still TBA; public to receive three months’ notice.

Definition of pointless: the escalator is running inside Kennedy #CrossTown station. The station likely won't open for at least three months, but there goes the escalator anyway

1. Software issues, first time I hear of the software being a problem. They are already at v6 working on v7... why?! All along we were told issues were physical.. now its software?
2. The progress on the occupancy certificates, which has definitely improved since last update.

I have no idea what they're doing at Kennedy #Crosstown station ... but I suspect, neither do they.
So for about a year, there's been a finished parking lot. Landscaped, even. It's been locked closed, of course, because the Crosstown isn't ready. The subway extension seems to be using it as a construction office (complete with noisy diesel genset running 24/7, which Crosstown agreed not to have)
