After my pilgrimage to Finch West last week, it was time to discover Eglinton West through Line 5 LRT on a beautiful Saturday

-It’s very fast underground
-Stations are very deep (and cold!)
-Spacing of stops seems adequate

Waiting 10min for the next train feels long when you’re used to the subway, especially since the timing of the next train signs are entirely wrong still months after opening (and Transit app also doesn’t work underground)

I rode the finally-open Eglinton Crosstown today and it is *slow*. It didn't even average 20 km/h, and other vehicles were passing us.

Eglinton LRT apparently enters its last day of testing today according to Metrolinx CEO

There was never truly transparency as when they started true revenue testing and if they stopped or reset the testing after the ward accident, but i guess we will take every good news.

Metrolinx testing of Eglinton LRT is still moving forward and apparently progressing. But still no timelines.

Now they are concerned about how old those Bombardier trains are since i guess a lot of them have been sitting in the garage for years.

It does seem that it's still Metrolinx running the show, so definitely not transferred fully to the TTC

Anti-cycling politicians & drivers say "put bikes on secondary streets". But what if it's proposed for 6 blocks on a secondary street with enough space for safe cycling infrastructure? Lies about the proposal, lawn signs demanding bike lanes *not* be installed for "safety", and petitions which say making drivers look for pedestrians+cyclists+drivers is too much work. Not joking.

It’s a bit of horseshit. I have serious doubts it’s the software that is holding the entire thing for years. For once, software could have been worked on years ago.
