And actually the truly interesting thing with this round is that both #dioptase and #crocoite have incredibly specific environmental needs for formation. That's why they're only found in really specific parts of the world!

Hmmm I voted for #crocoite because it doesn't really have any uses other than being lead chromate and looking like a cool chaotic spikyboi. (I mean. Lead chromate is pretty chaotic. Especially since its chrome mineral is apparently specifically hexavalent chromium - that's some nasty stuff!!) #MinCup23

That said, I'm still on the fence between #Crocoite and #Dioptase. They are both very showy, both very toxic, neither very economically or historically important, equally rare, similarly interesting crystal structure, similarly interesting genesis. I guess it comes down to talent and personality categories. Flip a coin? Show of hands? Or which do you like better, the kid from Tasmania or the kid from the deserts of Africa? #MinCup23

I'm going #Crocoite for #MinCup23.
It's the mineral emblem of of the state of Tasmania (https://shapingtasmania.tmag.tas.gov.au/object.aspx?ID=56). Other State emblems include the famous Tasmanian Devil which are cute when young (and as adults have one of the highest jaw crushing power to size ratios of any animal, so don't get too close...)
Seeing we're not voting on small cute mammals, I'll vote #Crocoite as a proxy...

Oop I gotta go do some reading and thinking before voting this round because I can't remember if #dioptase is largely a pretty and low chaos rock, but #crocoite is lead heavy which automagically makes it chaotic.

@vickyveritas noooooo! Two of my favorite crystals! I failed to find any #Crocoite I could afford in the last six years of hunting for it at Tucson show. I do have a fine chunky piece of #Diopside though, purchased directly from a family mining it, I think in Ethiopia.
