Dear #nostriches,
First Skype closed its doors, now Google voice blocked access from Brazilian accounts. I now lost access to all my previous American phone lines, i used to verify services like Paypal (Paypal is the only important one). Can anyone recommend a service that will provide me with an American phone number capable of receiving Text messages (SMS)?
It should be accepted by Paypal. I tried Hushed, which was very cheap, and Paypal refused it (says it does not accept VoIP phone numbers). Se i think i'd need an eSim, or something like that.
Any suggestions?

Let's say tomorrow the British state Eye of Sauron turns to nostr. What actually happens? They would probably set their target as #Damus and #Amethyst I imagine, certainly as a priority (and let's just say that this is the case).
How does this scenario play out?
Two devs who are public figures threatened with legal action and insane fines. (I'm not sure what actually happens / is being threatened, what is realistically enforceable by Interpol or whatever... that's another question really, if anyone knows...)

I'm thankful my surgery went well & I am not in a wheelchair for life. Just temporary for now I may not have a family, anyone to spend the day with, or the thanksgiving dinner for the 18th year but I am thankful.

How can an implementation of NIP-17 by different developers be so different to the end user?
I understand it hasn't be widely implemented yet, but clients that have implemented it have issues.
Genuinely curious.
- #Amethyst and #0xchat seem to be the closest in similarity - They both communicate (mostly) fine between each other, and chats are created as they should. I think one thing in need of cleanup is that some messages on Amethyst are received as "template via 0xchat".
- #Coracle almost works, but for some DMs it creates a completely separate group chat when viewed on 0xchat. Further, some DMs are sent unencrypted with no option for encryption (if this has anything to do with inbox relays I'm unsure how when NIP-17 messages can be sent in other clients to/from the same users).
- Not sure what the deal with #Iris is. The Desktop app(hasn't been updated in a while) can only do groups, but these groups can't be joined by other clients. Web is missing this functionality entirely, including beta.iris.
I'd love to onboard other people and suggest "use this on your phone, and this on desktop/web", but we can't communicate.
Not sure if I'm missing something... Or if it's just too soon, even though what's there seems like it's supposed to work.

#asknostr what I am supposed to see on the working localhost:4869 page for the #citrine relay I installed on my Android phone?
After much node.js-ing, I have now got as far as Terminal confirming everything is talking and reading correctly, but progress is stalled at a message on Chrome saying it sees a Nostr relay or websocket. But that's it.
What am I missing? Or is that the feedback? #relay
Also any idea how to see and rectify the errors indicated on my private relay entry in Amethyst? cheers
