My current perception of the current migration projects we currently have...

Note: it's now since 12 months we're trying to find how to let our solution be able to be hosted on an infra that is not defined for that, BUT as the new infra is a long-term strategic solution from the top high management, then you know you, you must follow the directives :ablobcatcoffee:

After it "expired", I managed to install #CloudReady. (A few months later, #Neverware was acquired by Google.)

Today, my 8-year-old Chromebook is running the current version of ChromeOS.

Just to see it would work, I tried installing #VSCode and...

Holy cow, it worked! There's not much disk space, but plug in an SD-card and you really could do some dev work on this thing.

So yeah. Color me impressed.

@mmeese Zwei EeePC und ein Netbook von Medion sind hier noch. Der große EeePC scheint nun verstorben. Auf dem Kleinen tut #CloudReady ganz gut. Der kann aber - glaube ich - nur 32bit und das wird nicht weiter entwickelt. Das Medion-Ding muss ich mal ausgraben.

#CloudReady Od razu widać, że to system do pracy w Internecie. Bez problemu mogłem pobrać książkę w księgarni Virtualo. Pod Windows było z tym dużo zachodu, a pod MacOS po prostu się poddałem. No chyba że poprawili samą stronę. Sprawdzę przy okazji.

#CloudReady Właśnie odkryłem, że te dźwięki wydawane przez ChromeVox mają swoje znaczenie. Anonsują ładowanie strony, pole edycyjne, pole wyboru zaznaczone lub nie, pole listy itp. Mam wrażenie, że tego nie oferują inne czytniki ekranu.

#CloudReady stosuje dziwną nomenklaturę w pomocy, więc śpieszę wyjaśnić: klawisz wyszukiwania (search) to klawisz Windows, czyli ten do otwierania menu start lub Option na Mac. To jest kluczowy przycisk, bo za jego pomocąkorzysta się z ChromeVox. Kto korzystał z VoiceOver na MacOS łatwo się połapie, bo działa to bardzo podobnie jak skrót VO.
- strzałki w lewo i prawo: przemieszczanie się między kolejnymi obiektami
- spacja: kliknięcie
- h, t, e, b itd: szybka nawigacja po elementach

#CloudReady i moja przygoda z tym systemem. Wątek raczej dla niewidomych użytkowników komputerów, ale może komuś jeszcze się przyda.
CR to fork systemu Chrome OS od Google. Można go instalować na dowolnym komputerze, a nie tylko na Chromebookach. No to zainstalowałem na moim zapasowym Dellu z 2015 roku. Tu można doczytać o systemie: https://www.neverware.com/freedownload#home-edition-install

As someone using #ChromeOS as a primary operating system for more than a decade, I was really looking forward to this.
I won't be limited by the high-end #Chromebook hardware selection anymore and it will be supported basically as long as the Linux kernel supports it.

Продолжаю мучать свой недоноут Prestigio на Intel Atom. Вчерашняя установка #CloudReady лагала шо пиздец, пришлось снести. Думал поставить Manjaro с i3wm, но пока отложил до следующей стабильной сборки (есть причины). Буду вечером мучать другую сборку #ChromiumOS, авось будет пошустрее.
