Building on the functions introduced in version 3.9, we have extended lazy evaluation to general expressions with ALL blosc2 functions in version 3.10.
Blosc2's compute engine ingests many array formats, as well as blosc2 arrays, with impressive results - see the graphic below!

I think about "big cloud data" in bioacoustics: very large audio data, or very large deep embeddings -- which (for audio) are essentially a kind of vector time-series. @ekaitz_zarraga and I have finally bootstrapped #TinyCC on #RISCV starting from GNU #Mes and #MesCC (and eventually tiny #hex0 binary if you go further back).
The binary that we have built is self-hosting and can build itself, though perhaps a few more bugfixes will be needed to reach the newest version of tcc.

Right now we can bootstrap all the way from #hex0 to #Mes, then use #MesCC to build very first build of #tinycc (we can call it mes-tcc). mes-tcc can then build the next build of tinycc (boot0-tcc). Unfortunately, at the moment boot0-tcc segfaults. Today, I fixed one crash which was due to Global Offset Table being all zeros but it turns out we are now hitting another segfault, so more work is needed.

Had a most lovely---almost 2h---video chat session with @ekaitz_zarraga and Timothy Sample (GNU Mes contributor and author of Germ) on the workings of Ekaitz' rewrite of Mes from a Scheme interpreter to a compiler.
AIUI, Guile Scheme has some interesting characteristics that prevent the Mes compiler from using some simple and low hanging fruit performance improvements. Sorry for being vague, Ekaitz can elaborate.
Wondering if these are also "slowing down" Guile so much---and if not, why not?---and if anything could be done about that.
