Funny to see this article after a couple days ago I saw that LibreOffice added the ability to import and export docs as Markdown. And someone on HackerNews was ranting about LibreOffice being legacy software and Markdown being the future of all documents.

Seeing the posts about #Bing (and, by extension, #DuckDuckGo) blocking #Neocities makes me want to remind people about small web-focused alternatives like #Wiby (https://wiby.me) and #Clew (https://clew.se).

Yeah, the best thing would be to change your browser settings to go to the noai site directly (or use a different search engine, like #clew! ;)

As for me, I'm surprisingly happy just using dillo a lot of the time now. XD

@JamiePauls Ok so #Merv @[email protected] @[email protected] told me the app is called #Clew and it's found here. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/clew/id1268077870 It isn't perfect of course nothing is nor is it a replacement for good O&M skills but it's free so worth a shot. I hope that helps.

Or, you could just try the KISS Launcher, which lets you add search engines directly to the launcher search bar. I even have #clew added!

Maybe there's a generic search widget which launches the search engine of your choice in your default browser?

The only one I know of that you can pay to use is #Kagi, but that is an #AI company from the very beginning.

I've been having good luck with #DuckDuckGo for a few years now, and ever since Google #enshittified/nerfed their search results, I no longer fall back to google for hard searches.

@Mojeek is absolutely worth a try, and my good friend @amin created #clew (https://clew.se) which is an open-culture-and-fediverse-first search engine that's definitely worth trying!!
