There's a "hardcore gamer online" stereotype according to which, if you play a game in easy mode, you're not a true gamer to them. I'm now starting to wonder if this started as a Touhou Project meme. In 2007, IOSYS's Flash videos went viral online. Overdrive had a meme with Reisen and Tewi saying: easy mode, how lame! It instantly became a must-post gaming meme on 4chan for years (the IOSYS meme itself was a SFW and Touhou-fied version of 2ch's "virgin insult" meme from an eromanga). So this somewhat niche mentality was boosted by a meme reaction picture with a catchphrase.
The Japanese text was actually "初月", a difficulty level specific to Imperishable Night with its moon theme (but assigned a pronunciation <ruby>初月 <rt>イージモード</rt></ruby> in the lyrics). The naturally became "easy mode" in English, and unintentionally made it exploitable in all gaming threads. #2hu #touhou -

I don't have a whole lot of my old figure collection, I foolishly let someone convince me to part with a near complete set of Hidamari Sketch Honeycomb figures, and a couple of other... Well dubious ones I had acquired.
But this is one I have kept onto, because, well... Firstly, it was a really cool figure to find in the wild, secondly, I don't recall it being overpriced though my spending habits in Japan were... Not clever.
Thirdly, Sakuya Izayoi is in my top 5 Touhou characters, perhaps second or third... I think that is mood dependent.One day I will have a proper place to put her, so she can grace my working space on full display and not from the confines of her ragged box.

Not sure why, but today is a #Touhou music kind of day.
It's been a while since I thought about the music from the Touhou series.Now admittedly, my breadth of knowledge and experience with Touhou is admittedly very shallow. I played the wedge of games Embodiment of Scarlet Devil up until Touhou Hisoutensoku. (Touhou 6 to 12.3)
So, for me, my all-time greats are generally embedded in that window. Exceptions do apply.
Looking at you Bad Apple, and that is mostly because the vocal remix by Alstroemeria Records.And, a hill I decided to camp myself on, Phantasmagoria of Flower View, in its entirety, is my favourite soundtrack.
Between Wind God Girl, Flowering Night, Gensokyo Past and Present ~ Flower Land, Higan Retour ~ Riverside View. And I'd probably be totally remiss not to mention Judgement in the Sixiteth YearSome of those shout outs might be rather telling of my character...
