Meg’s mom said it reminded her of a treehouse and I think that’s about right. Great space to just hang out and enjoy nature. Going to be doing a lot of reading out here.

It’s Friday, and our deck replacement/catio is now fully operational. Took about ten days from demolition of the old deck to finishing the new one (minus staining it, which has to wait, apparently).
It would seem that the cats approve. Hope they really enjoy the outdoors.

Cats were bored in the house so they've been put out into the catio. Actually, they were asking to go out, even though it's drizzling out.
Jasper is doing his claws on some pallet wood, better that than the furniture.
Bramble has found a small friend up here by the door but has dropped it somewhere in the jungle area. That will keep him occupied for hours, waiting to see if he can catch it again.

The #catio door my 18yo and I built over the weekend has been wonderful, but I think I need to make a few small improvements.
I'm now 3D printing a door catch (out of polymaker HT-PLA-GF, which I've never printed with before. Hopefully it is strong enough. If not I may have to try again in PETG or ASA.)
I think this will help a lot. I just want a firm enough hold to prevent our most curious cat from trying to open it, while still letting humans easily open it from either side.

Well, I absolutely fucking ruined my manicure, and my hands are going to be painful as fuck tonight but it is worth it so our cats can enjoy the outdoors.
I am really proud of our little catio.
