Today I found out that #bountysource is insolvent and you should not use it github.com/bountysource/core/issues/1586

Bountysource stopped paying out recently, so we've set up a new system.

I've now been waiting over 3 months for a #Bountysource cash-out request over $100. Their support has been ghosting me for two months, this is getting a bit ridiculous. Anyone else with similar experiences, any ideas? It's probably not worth lawyering up over that amount... 🙄

On #bountysource, many issues just don't go beyond a few dollars, and often money isn't collected even if things get implemented.
Bountysource now changes its ToS so that *it* can keep all that unclaimed money that was intended for open source after 2 years.
This is outrageous!

Note that if you have a bounty posted before June 30, 2018 and do not redeploy it, it will be seized July 1, even if the issue is solved within the next 14 days, as one needs to wait 14 days after solving an issue before being able to claim the bounty.

#bountysource changed their ToS such that bounties that have been posted more than 2 years ago will be seized by them (probably to fund the blockchain company that bought bountysource a while back). The change will become active July 1. If you have any bounties on bountysource posted before June 30, 2018 you can ask to redeploy your bounty on a new issue once.

@microg will no longer advertise the use of bountysource for issue bounties. Please refrain from posting new bounties there.
