Il #DMA dovrebbe portare a un #bridge #opensource #europeo, ma al momento non esiste perché:
1. #Meta (e gli altri #gatekeeper) preferiscono soluzioni proprietarie.
2. L’ #UE non ha ancora sviluppato un’ #InfrastrutturaPubblica
3. Manca un coordinamento tra #istituzioni, #sviluppatori e #utenti.Dobbiamo fare pressione, le cose devono cambiare!

Grandios #meta , wie ein 8 jähriges kind das den Schokoriegel nicht teilen möchte und erst Mal die leere Verpackung hinhält.
#whatsapp kann nun von Drittanbietern Nachrichten empfangen. Genial, die wichtigsten sind auch direkt dabei. Frevler wer die nicht kennt...

En train de tester #BirdyChat. A l'air utilisable sans permettre à l'appli de fouiller dans tout le téléphone. Insiste pour avoir accès aux contacts, mais semble utilisable sans.
En revanche, pour accéder au réseau WhatsApp, il faut (i) activer l'option dans BirdyChat (facile) et (ii) que votre correspondant active une option dans WhatsApp qui permet d'accéder aux réseaux tiers (beaucoup plus difficile).
Et ne fonctionne qu'au sein de l'Union Européenne. Mais pas de surprise.

Llevo unos meses con el ojo echado a #BirdyChat. Me estoy informando y al parecer es un servicio de mensajería externo para poder quitarse de WhatsApp, sin perder a la gente. Encriptado, mediante correo electrónico y no número de teléfono...
De base, por lo que he entendido, sigue usando la arquitectura cliente/servidor de Meta y lo que quiero es desaparecer de Meta "todo lo posible" porque ahí es donde hablo con mi familia.

Per caso scopro che #whatsapp si è adeguata (o si è dovuta adeguare) alla normativa 🇪🇺 che impone l'interoperabilità tra i sistemi di messaggistica...ma poi scopro anche che "per ora" l'unico altro sistema con cui è "interoperabile" è #BirdyChat
Sono l'unico a non conoscere #BirdyChat ?

Eigentlich nutzt #WhatsApp doch das ganz bekannte und eigentlich offne #XMPP Protokoll. War im Herbst nicht mal die Rede davon, dass WhatsApp nicht Schnittstellen schaffen muss, um Chats auch mit anderen Clients zu ermöglichen? Habe es eben getestet und habe nur #Birdychat gefunden. Sehr ernüchternt. Mal sehen ob das mal besser wird. .. und vielleicht auch wirklich offen, dass ich mein geliebtes #Pidgin für #Jabber wieder dafür nutzen kann. Offen für alles.

Re #WhatsApp interoperability: am I the only one who is smelling malicious compliance here?
Why are the only solutions compatible with Meta's messenger platform coming from complete unknown corners of the interwebz, have no user-base and no history of previous offerings? Why is there zero knowledge about the actual humans developing these products? Does anyone know anything about them?

Wer #Whatsapp nur noch für ein paar Idioten drauf hat, die sich kein #Threema installieren wollen, der kann sie bald scheinbar auch mit #BirdyChat anschreiben. Ein Messenger der nur ne Email braucht und aus Riga (also Europa) kommt. Alles besser als die SpionageApp von #Meta! www.birdy.chat
