A moody evening on the Gulf of Mexico as I photographed the sunset through the last of the sea oat beach grasses. In late summer when the seed heads are in full bloom, I love to see them swaying in the salty ocean breeze. Used for erosion purposes along coastal Florida, they’re so environmentally valuable that it’s illegal to pick, them.
