Parallel processing is important.
If this run on all my CPU cores I would have had this done in 1 hour! As it stands I'm probably gonna hiberanate my system 5 times and loose all progress before it gets anywhere. Argh!

@NoahCarver On linux back in the days I was using an app called #avidemux. It worked fairly well.
I was also trying out #kdenlive however the version I was using has been crashing on my system so I've stopped playing with it.
Nowadays I am no longer dealing with videos and for simple cutting both audio and video I'm just using #losslesscut. -

Ich bin immer wieder erstaunt über den mittlerweile so konsequenten switch zu Wayland. Da gibt es noch mit so vielen Programmen Probleme, sei es Fehler/Bugs oder auch generell keine Unterstützung.
Und Nvidia und Wayland sowieso sehr "speziell".Aktuell grad Probleme mit Avidemux (built from source), Ausführung mit "--platform xcb" nötig, ansonsten unbenutzbar. 🤨
Bei anderen Programmen (z.B. FreeCAD) musste ich "QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb" als Umgebungsvariable verwenden.Das hindert mich auch am Umstieg von Fedora 42 auf 43 (KDE-Plasma).

I was forced to use #Avidemux and #MKVToolnix on #Windows10 to strip graphic SSA subtitles from MKV files into SRT and recode a dozen such files to AVI with the SRT files next to it and I was so lost outside of a #Linux #Bash environment... Tried to #Python my way into a batch script but this just showed my weakness; I am terribad at Python. XD Anyway, I got it done (after adding the C:\Program Files\MKVToolnix folder to %PATH% because I decided to use Command Prompt, for some goddamned reason.)

Habt ihr euch auch schon immer gefragt wo man in Avidemux eigentlich die Warteschlange findet? Da das Feature leider sehr gut versteckt ist, habe ich es jetzt mal in meinem Blog dokumentiert.

Es wird niemanden hier wundern, ich erzähle es trotzdem:
Projektwoche, Projekt: Doku-Team, ich hab die Video-Leute "geerbt".
Kamera macht Aufnahmen in mp4 mit h.265 Codec. Kein einziges an der Schule angeschafftes Programm spielt auch nur die Videospur einigermaßen flüssig ab. Kein "professionelles" Schnittprogramm lädt die Videospur auch nur.
Meine M$/Apple-SuS belächeln die Optik von #avidemux.
Avidemux lädt und schneidet und codiert um ohne groß Aufhebens zu machen.
Ich mag #FOSS (und 🐧) -
Jetzt mal #Avidemux dafür probiert: Wenn ich nur an Keyframes schneide, passen die Schnitte hinterher. Hab aber bei der Bildsuche keinen Ton, weil das Programm offenbar von multiplen Tonspuren verwirrt wird. Untertitel werden auch nicht unterstützt.
Das ganze Werkzeug fühlt sich archaisch an. -

A question to the IT affine people
Do you know either an old version of #AviDemux or some other small program (can be command line) that i can download as ready compiled binary to use on #32Bit Linux?
Is ok if its 10 years old or whatever, all i want to do is to open a file from the camera to cut; resize and apply some filters. I dont want fancy mutichannel #VideoEditing , just make some clips

@jackbrewster #Avidemux has the ability to selectively blur parts of a video, and it is cross-platform (I use it under #MacOS ). You have to use a filter to do it, and I can't remember the name of the filter offhandbut you can select the exact area you want and by making it a partial filter, you can apply for exact start and end times.

Früher war ich sehr von #AviDemux überzeugt, das war für mich gerade die richtige Kombination aus zuschneiden; Filtern und Konvertieren können ohne ein nichtlineares Schnittprogram verstehen zu müssenAllerdings habe ich keinen Überblick mehr wo man das heutzutage vertrauenswürdig herunterladen kann, oder noch besser eine alte Version
Und immer Hashtags benutzen damit Texte gefunden werden können

@toplesstopics Not sure what you are looking for but for just editing and some effects, #Avidemux is free and relatively easy to use, though it does have a few annoying quirks that the developer thinks are perfectly fine. I believe #OpenShot is also free and is more capable but personally I did not find it intuitive or easy to use at all.
