  1. I have tried #TinyCore #Linux on my #Thinkpad #X60 old #32bit #laptop. I was very impressed. Everything worked. Very cool #wifi connecter app. #Firefox worked!!! Now I run #OpenBSD but I will go back to TinyCore if it doesn't work out.

PS: I've heard again today about #Slitaz after more than 10 yesrs!!!

  3. #NetBSD worked fine for some time on my #32bit #Thinkpad #X60. It even had #Firefox #nightly and that worked👍👍👍.
After some updates Firefox stopped working😡😡😡. I ditched NetBSD for #OpenBSD. Aaand no Firefox here😠😠😠😠😠😠!!!

  5. Just installed #OpenBSD on my #Thinkpad #X60 - a very old #32bit laptop. Works fine, still usable for everything except web browsing. OpenBSD has no #firefox or #Chromium in the official repos. For modern web browsing #Dillo or #Netsurf just can't handle the job. I use #suckless #surf web browser but it crashes very often :blobugh:

  7. The first #qemu release of the year has been tagged: gitlab.com/qemu-project/qemu/- the big #TCG feature is the new discontinuity #plugin APIs. #32bit host support is finally dropped 🙂 As usual see the #changelog for the details: wiki.qemu.org/ChangeLog/11.0

  8. 🤡 Ah, the dream of running Color Forth on a "cutting-edge" 32-bit #baremetal computer—because who doesn't want to experience #computing like it's 1995 again? 🖥️✨ Watch in awe as a #YouTube video pretends this is groundbreaking, while the rest of us question if #nostalgia has finally jumped the shark. 🦈

  9. A few days ago I tried to build some perls with 32 bit ints and 128 bit floats. Cue test failures. Today I tried again, and this time I read my notes from last time on how to do it, and it Just Works.

    Yay past me!

Was bleibt noch übrig?
  29. I was given a HP Stream 7 tablet yesterday, Originally it ran Windows 8 - Which must have been highly optimized for this. It only has 1gb ram, and 32gb storage. With an #Intel #Atom Z3235G quad core. So I tried to install #linux on it. The biggest frustration I'm having with it thou, is the #EFI only supports #32bit boot. And I've only found #Antix to actually install, but I can't get wifi to work, or sound. I think #Lubuntu might work but it fails at installing grub i386.

  34. The #32bit #host deprecation for #qemu is finally coming: patchew.org/QEMU/2026010805301

Those that still need 32 bit host support can still run older QEMU's but as you can see from the diffstat this removes a lot of code which will make ongoing maintenance easier.

If anybody actually does exist that needs to emulate bleeding edge architectural extensions on 32 bit platforms then sorry in advance.
