She absolutely did. I was outraged to hear her story. Sending my love and strength to her family. Not only did they have the heartbreak of Adriana's tragic sudden death..now they have to deal with the trauma of her being kept alive as an incubator, a very premature baby that may not make it or be severely disabled, and a grieving little boy who thought his mama was asleep. (broke my heart)

Adriana Smith was a 30 Year old pregnant, black woman who tried to seek medical care for severe headaches.
She was dismissed and sent home with brain bleeds
She died the next day. She’s suffered brain death, yet her body is being kept alive because she was 9 weeks pregnant.
One of the first questions I had was whether she had an Advance Directive or DNR, as healthcare workers know how important those documents are.
Did you know only EIGHT US States allow pregnant people full autonomy over what happens in the case of catastrophic illness or injury?
The rest can (and do) overrule the patient’s wishes.
Pregnancy is dangerous. Women have been stripped of their autonomy in life AND death.
